^_^ I like rodents, unless they're rats with tails that are as thick as a NFL quarterback's neck.

I rather prefer reptiles (snakes especially), but I’m fond of rodents as well, so long as they’re not chewing through important cords. ^__^

I always have, and my parents always hasn't. I wanted a pet mouse soo bad in middle school but my parents weren't too found of the idea. When I brought a brown mouse home from church my dad yelled at me and told me to take it back where it came from. ;0;

Yes, hamsters are fine. Even a rabbit is OK. But not real big on rats and mice.

I don't hate them, but I don't like them :\ I fear they would chew on my precious computer cables.

Back when I lived in a farm house in Korea there were many many rats around, and they used to scare my grandmother and mother a lot... Then my dog would kill it and stuff... bad memories.

Well, maybe hamsters don't count, or rabbits. But still.

[edit] If you ever bring a mouse or such to my house you better be careful, I tend to treat them no better than roaches...

The owner of one of the comic book stores I visit for my mangas and comics asked me if I would be interested in a rat that a friend of his couldn't take where he was moving. I said I don't think it would work for me because I have 4 cats and 3 kittens in the house. He said he is just has big as a cat.
I looked at the rat and I have a cat 3 times bigger than that rat.
I hope someone will being willing to take the rat off the guys hands.
If you live near Waldorf, MD and know where Comics Plus is stop in and talk to the guy.

I used to have gerbles and loved um! I had rats too, they were nice but I am glad they are no longer in existance. My mother is a teacher and I used to take the gerbles down from her room, and letting peole pat them before school. It earned me the nickname Ratman. I stoped carrying the gerbles downstairs after that...

I'm a big rodent fan.. I especially like hamsters, but I also like mice, moles, gerbils, and rats, too. Ooh, and bats! Bats are awesome.
I used to breed hamsters years ago - sadly, though, I haven't had any for the past five years because my parents got sick of them =(

Hmmm...there's so many people who like rodents that I'm going to have to say that I don't like them :P .

I had a mouse in my room a couple of years ago (unwanted), and it chewed up a bunch of my books, a nice coat, and a few other things. Needless to say, that particular mouse is not living anymore  .

Rabbits are not rodents. They are lagomorphs, and the difference between the two is very subtle. Lagomorphs have an extra pair of incisors right behind their buckteeth (and apparently, buckteeth come from buck rabbits, not deer. I have never seen a deer with buck teeth).

I could never own a rat. The very idea sounds horrid to my mother. Plus, we once got a rat (a pest) stuck between the wall and the dishwasher. It left an awful stench and *I* was the one that had to pull out the dishwasher and pull out its mutilated corpse. That incident pretty much extinguished any positive feelings about ratkind.

That, and the bubonic plague, whatever.

When I was little I had a rat named, Aurelius Crispus and I loved that rat. My kids have had rats when they were very little. In fact, I was the "rat mom" at the school and would go into their classes and share tons of information about rats and their domestication, where it started and various facts, and then watch the teacher squirm and the kids giggle at her touching its tail.

Rats can be litter-trained and are the only rodent pets, which makes them great for classrooms, that don't bite - unlike gerbils and hamsters. Of course, this depends if they're raised properly, if you abuse any animal it will bite and be mean.

Much of the information on rats is lost to my memory, since we're now dog-only pet owners, but they are fantastic pets, because they are so social that they love and cuddle their masters and get very attached to whatever family they are in.

There are differences in common rats and domesticated albinos and hooded, which are the most intelligent of the species. You should only buy a female, not a male rat, also. Great pets, unfortunately, they only live between 3 - 5 years, which makes it very hard when your children get very attached to them, and why we try not to have rats any more.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
