Right, the only reason I say that is because everyone I ever talked to or played with who was any good seemed to prefer Jigglypuff. As for myself I played him enough that something "clicked" in my head and I was able to use him fairly well... but like I said, I never really played the game enough to get very good at it, so I never really polished my reflexes and stuff around his moves; I could just sorta use him well enough to save my life. And I was still able to put up quite a fight.
Some of these fighting games are not so cut-and-dry about which character is the most powerful, or if they are all equal, or what strategy to employ. So it's largely subjective to which general strategies you tend to employ as a gamer, I suppose, and which of your own strategies you develope.
Of course, then there are other fighting games where each character has a carefully articulated strategy associated with them... such as Soul Calibur 2 or something.
