Email not working.

Postby Pigeon4x » Wed Dec 01, 2004 2:04 pm

I feel kind of embaressed about asking this. I just know the answer is gonna be some really really basic thing and make me feel stupid, but anyway. I'm making this post for a friend of mine. Anyway, we normally talk over email at night and on weekends. I have a gmail account, and she has the whole outlook thing already on her computer through bellsouth.

Here's the problem though: I can email her, but her emails don't get through to me. Any suggestions?

off topic, but i dont recommend outlook express

http://www.mozilla.com

i recommend using thunderbird, although you have to confiure the ports and such at first, there are handy tutorials or some people here can do it ^^

some email servers also... some reason, have the emails delayed... also check that you didn't "block" her or anything, and make sure it's not in the spam folder

I highly doubt she'll be able to change browers. Her family only has one computer and her dad does all the work on it. He wouldn't even let her have a gmail account. I'll suggest it though.

I forgot to mention above. She says it takes "like 30 minutes" to open outlook and sometimes once it opes she has a page cannot be displayed message. The computer is brand new, she only had it for like 2 weeks now, if that helps.

what email service does she use? I believe outlook express is sorta like "connecting your email with another program" she can probably go to like netscape or internet explorer and go to yahoo or whatever she uses
