We went down my grandma's house today and we got her old Atari! ^_^ It's so cool.

Just wondering how many other people have played Atari?

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Are you kidding?! That was all I had when I was a kid!

Ah, the old 2600...man, that was sweet...we got a 7800 later, though.

My first next-gen gaming system was a Super Nintendo...but considering I didn't get that until I was fourteen or so...all I had was the Atari.

Atari recently released a CD with a whole bunch of their own 2600 games and several of their original arcade versions; I think it's called "The Classic 80 Games". I bought one; good times. ^_^ (Too bad our actual hardware doesn't work great any more, due to an awful short in the power connector... -_- )

I almost bought a 2600 once, but I was broke and parents wouldn't let me have any money :)

Ah, I remember the good old Atari from my early primary school years. They had all these educational games but I was more into the likes of Pac Man, Bomber Man, Buggy Boy, Gauntlet 1 and 2 and The Predator (and many more). It was very fun!
Ah, yes, and I remeber the Atari's had magical powers in Year 4. You would type up your story or whatever and then you could sit back and relax for several minutes as the words appeared on the screen before you! Quite fun , but a real bummer to edit with! But then, when I left after Year 7 they got rid of the Atari's. Boo!!

I have played some of the old Atari games. I especially like Battlezone and Pong. I also like Space Invaders, but I'm not sure that that was Atari.

This is an interesting toy...

A joystick that you plug into your tv that includes 10 atari games. Not a bad deal (unless you consider the fact that you can get most of the games for free as updated flash games).

I've played it... While I enjoy playing Genesis games, I can't see the appeal of Atari. It's so...boring. I consider my time playing it wasted. It's a bit too 'old school' for me.

The same as current games... $50 for a game.

Acutally, the consoles themselves were far more expensive than current consoles. Whereas next gen stuff goes for about 200 or so, Atari, Genesis, etc., originally went for 300. It's because current game companies are losing money on every console they sell but making up for it on the games.

Totally old skool!

I can't remember how much the games cost, but I do remember that it was a pain to save for them on my allowance.

All of those hours of Asteroids paid off, though :)

EDIT: Aw dang, if those aren't exactly the three games I would buy! I spent a whole summer working through FF2 with my friends in the cul de sac. You spoony bard! Oh, the memories...
