xbox is bad
And yet none of that has any relevance to the question at hand which is, how do you think that the Xbox console would have fared if Halo 1 and 2 were never released?ShiroiHikari wrote:PS2 has dirty games too.
But that is the heart of the question; for it is quite likely that many people would not have been Xbox gamers to begin with if it wasn't for Halo 1/2.Wingzero22 wrote: Because we don't know if there would be another game that would have became candy to xbox gamers.

While the subject isn't about this, I'll have to say that I disagree a bit... while the gameplay might not be to your liking, it is still a solid game once you've gotten past the committing sensless criminal acts. As a driving game it's top notch, up there with the original Driver, if not better. I've never been a big fan of the shooting portion of the game, it's still pretty good, and they made improvements with Vice City (though they also added some content that I would have been much happier without). GTA isn't everyone's cup of tea, but neither is Halo... but I'm getting off-track here.
cbwing0 wrote:Of course I don't feel the same way about Halo. Halo 1 & 2 actually are quality games, especially in the multiplayer modes. The sequel added much to the complexity of the game, thus it is not an "FPS for newbies"
I find it interesting that Half-Life 2 added things to it that Halo did... Halo gave FPS games a new mark to shoot for. It's gorgeous, spralling, quick-loading, fustratingly fun, and has depth of story. Halo went the way of a more realistic game rather than the "Hi, I'm a 5'8 guy of average build carring around 18 weapons and 500lbs of ammo" that games like Half-Life and Doom are so popular for (note: I still like those games as well ]To summarize, if Halo 1 & 2 were never released, then gaming in general might not be as popular as it is.
