My favoties, are Gundam Wing, 0083 War in the pocket (man, rx-78 Nt1 "Alex" kicks butt!) and perhaps 0079, it's a really great series. It is a classic mecha series, whats so unique about it is that the mechas aren't super-robots like evangalion or pilot candidate and etc. Mobile suits have their limitations, and the politics in it are astonishing as well

Gundam! While the mobile suits in some of the other series are 'cooler', My favorites are 0080:war in the pocket and 8th team, for their realism in characters and plot. No super hero-pilots, just real people.

I like all of the Gundam series except for G-Gundam (a little too corny for me) and 08th MS Team, which has a little nudity and a lot of vulgarity, both of which is too much for me.

Otherwise, my favorite is actually the original series. I really wish I could see it in the original Japanese, but there's some licensing problems; we may never see the true original. *sigh*

I've seen the first volume of SEED, I'm not too terribly impressed, I'll have to watch some more before I can tell whether I like it or not. The music rocks, though.

I agree, that is why the 08th MS team is my favorite Gundam series.
If focuses on the characters as people (or soldiers), and the Gundams as just a tool for war. Not some insanely powerfull creation that desimates entire armies with their super 'Buster' cannon that every one sees comming and never moves away from...

Its more of a (excuse the oximoron) 'realistic Sci-fi', and thats what I like about it. ;)

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Yeah 08th MS team is by far in my opinion the best Gundam series ever created. For reasons that people have already reiterated. But I still enjoy the original series and Gundam Wing.

Gundam SEED is the only gundam series that i've seen all the way through, but i think its really good, i've also seen quite alot of gndam wing, but could never really get into it, it fel like it was missing something, but to be fair Endless waltz was pretty good. I am also greatly anticipating the new sequel series Gundam SEED : Destiny, its gonna rock

All of Gundam has been good until recently, G-Saviour and SEED were pretty blah in my opinion. SEED is just taking the idea of MSG and splicing it with G-Wing, which I don't like that idea. My favorite Gundam series, as I've said before, is Mobile Suit Gundam, but most of the Universal Century series are great. Alternate Universe is were it started to go down hill, and then Tomino's idea to take the AU and add it to UC because of his distaste in AU, so he created the living horror we know know at Turn A Gundam. Which is apparently awesome "becasue Turn A fights with butterflies." The Moonlight Butterflies were pretty dumb the way I see it, and now that SEED-D is in the works, I only see Gundam going downhill.

I love Gundam!!!!!!! 08th and MSG are my current favorites, with CCA and 0080 in close running. But I can't stand Wing! I guess I'm just a U.C. girl. BTW, what are you guy's favorite characters? Mine is 08th's Ghinius Sakhalin by far, as you'll probably soon hear lots about.

Wow, I found a Gundam thread. Cool.

I only have a small collection which consists of a 1/144 scale HGUC model, and two 1/100 scale Master Grade models (one of which is still in the box).

I found a link to an image of a life-sized Gundam model from a friend's post on another forum tonight, decided to share it with you:

How come the only things anyone's seen are Wing, 08th MS Team, and SEED? XD Gundam SEED, from what I've heard, is nothing but a rehash of the first series. I think I'd rather just watch First Gundam, honestly. Also, I used to really like Wing, but I haven't seen it in a few years, so I'd have to watch it again.

I personally really like G Gundam. It takes a long time to set up the plot, but once things get going, they don't stop. It's awesome. Shining Gundam for the win.

Anyway, I'm getting really enthusiastic about watching First Gundam and Zeta Gundam, mostly because I've been playing the PS2 game, Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam. It's good fun.

I think my favorite was G-Gundam, but I've liked all the gundams I've seen

A lot of the reason is, because of Cartoon Network. You have your otaku gundam fans that have seen just about all of the Gundam or the UC gundam.

The new wave of Gundam fans in the US, saw GW, O8th MS team or Gundam Seed.

There are only three Gundam series that I can't stand and that is, Gundam Seed, Gundam 0083 and G Gundam.

I didn't really like Gundam F91 movie that much, but I did like the music in it.

My fav UC Gundam series was Gundam 0080 and Gundam 08MS Team.

For now, I just like GW as the AC series, but I like Gundam Wing Endless Waltz movie better then I did GW.

I still need to see Gundam X and I may see Gundam 00.

*Gasp* Awsome it's a Gundam thread!

Well like most others on here Gundam Wing is my favorite, though I did kind of like G-Gundam, just because it was different. But I mean come on the Gundams in Wing (especially Deathscythe, which I have a model of by the way) are just plain awsome, and the movie rocked as well, just the plot and everything in Wing left an impression on me.

Personally I wasn't that big of a fan of Seed either, the begining was Ok, but as the series progressed I started liking it less, I think it's because like others have said, it's basically a couple of older Gundam series slapped together.

And SD, Oh man don't ever let me see that series again *shudders*

Do we dare include *SHUDDER* SD GUNDAM that Toonami ran a long time ago?:hits_self

The only thing I hate about SEED(aside from the fact that they killed off
my favorite character *koff FLAY koff*)was that I was never able to see the entire series through.
