Lord of the Rings: The Third Age

Postby oro! » Thu Sep 16, 2004 2:27 pm

Is anyone else excited about the new Lord of the Rings game? I think it is so cool that they are actually doing an rpg on it not entirely on the main characters. It looks like it will be like the Final Fantasy games, which I like as well so I am really hoping I can get it when it comes out.
What have y'all heard about it? I will welcome anything new you know about it.Thanks.

That is very interesting. While I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings as a series (books or movies) I would have to judge the game based off its own merit. Still, it certainly has a good world (which any rpg needs) and a great deal of possibility. I will monitor for future updates.

Actually, it is based entirely upon the movies. The creators have no rights to the books, so technically they are only able to work from what exists in the movies, and the world Jackson created from Tolkein's.

However, you might mean that in a different sense: the events in the game are not the events in the movies. It is related to Lord of the Rings because it takes place in Middle Earth.

i enjoyed playing it before my PS2 broke... agian.... but i thought it was lots-o-fun! i liked the way it was set up, and that ur not really a character from the movies, i do believe that the Gondorian dude is Beregond, right? i didn't really get to remember/memorize the names before the stupid console broke.

i still think it was fun though! ^_^

How long have you had that ps2 for it to break. I personally have owned mine for three years and there has been no real trouble. The Third Age is on my list, but we'll see if I can really get it.
