Yes, actually. I'd have to check with my instructor as to what he'd want it "officially" called, but I am very involved in martial arts. I'm even doing some light weapon training with the katana and staff. Our style is a mix of many things, including a little of traditional karate. To sum it up, I'm a kickboxer.

I haven't gotten that involved in many martial arts, though I've had some experts teach me a thing or two. One interesting thing is Kai Aikaido (which has approximately thirty thousand different spellings). It's somewhat of a martial arts style, but even more of a philosophy.

The essential base isn't very Christian (ie all religions are pathes to the same goal), but I think it can be used as such. Of course, as a 1st degree black belt you have more to go, but Kai Aikaido can be an interesting side quest.

I was into Aikido for a short while before I broke my collar bone twice (that would be a great story for the kids). But I still love it anyway once you throw away the philosophy and insert Biblic "harmony" and "peace"

My friend is a martial arts nutcase, he started young and knows about 5 different ones. He's currently doing ninjitsu training.

Needless to say i'm pretty inspired by it. Once I've settled down at university, I'll probably take up either kendo or ninjitsu. Both involve long sharp objects, which has got to be a major plus point
plus they are a fun way of staying fit and healthy!

welcome to the forums anyway, and enjoy yourself.

hi, i know karate,tae-kwon-do both im a third degree black belt. i study fencing, using the staff/bo and i study a little in using tia chi sword and the katana only because of my interest in swords.

but to me it was just something to learn and say i did it, my friend back then thought it was boring, to me it was interesting and a little boring kind of.
I n September of 2012 Megaroad-01 was launched with an escort of fleet of zentraedi warships. From that point on the mass-production of the Megaroad -class colony ship began and soon long-range colony fleets were routinely being launched from earth solar system at a rate of 1-2 per year.
In September of 2022 Megaroad-19 colony ship with it’s escort fleet left earth and headed south fifteen degrees to the right of the southern star. On a mission with three objection; One to search for a planet to colonize, two to see what the rim of the galaxy looks like, three to see if any zentraedi fleets are out there. On July 21, 2025 Megaroad-19 entered its ninth star system and named it the sierra system.
Orbiting the third planet is an asteroid that was some ten miles in size, and a moon that was named Karla.

My family has trained indifferent style for many years.

my mother holds belts in judo and ju jitsu

myself.... I studied Tae Kwon do for many years, then went to koga Ryu Ninjitsu ( very agressive...hurt my back training) rested, joined the military trained in Shotokan for a few years, now relax and practice kendo.

My brother is very high in Tae Kwon Do ... he also trains with one of the younger Gracies in Calif and teaches his Tae Kwon Do class grappling, etc ..techniques ( he's still no match for his older bro..LOL )

My Children will start in Tae Kwon Do as I did...

* It is good idea to give yourself confidence of knowing you can defend yourself... and the knowledge that you should never pick a fight.. there is always someone better the you out there...

* It helps to have Christian mindset..it is very easy to accept the strength that comes from a spiritual training other then Christ's way. But remember being strong won't get you into Heaven.

* In martial arts, job, whatever it is better to leave if you feel the situation is wrong. There is always something better elsewhere and the Lord will bless you for your faithfulness.

Fight with sticks, you say...

What type of bo are you talking about? 4 ft? 6 ft? 12 ft? If the answer is 12 ft, can you explain how you can possibly wield something that big?+

when I played a lot of games... I used top play tekken... there is a character that fights in that Brazilian style.... I like to use Hwarang because that is an old school Tae Kwon Do style (Hwarangdo ... one of the few that still teach sword techniques), but it was fun to watch Eddy's Brazilian fighting style.

interesting info...

Postby WhiteÃ…ngel » Wed Jun 18, 2003 10:56 am

I was just wondering...

Do you think bowing at the Dojo for the dojo and the sensei is disrespectful to God? :eyebrow:

FIGHT!!
oh boy do i like martial arts. read lots of books got videos, but i could never really join a dojo till i was in college. i was a student of Yoshinkan style of Aikido. cool, like the uniforms the best with the hakama and all, (dress like Kenshin). i will soon begin training in Akayama-ryu Jujitsu.
oh, but i have never had to really fight, its just a great hobbie.
