Dood, I'm in a pickel...

Ahh, it's not something bad like death or some problem with a family member like that but... Well, believe it or not, I hate music. I can't get into any kind of it. There's a slim few exceptions but I couldn't really qualify them... Not being able to get into music also includes Christian music! I listen but feel nothing and then my mind starts to wander off... My dad says I should try to learn to enjoy music but I see no way of this happening. In case you're wondering what these exceptions are, I like the music from Golden Sun when you're in the Jupiter, Mars, and Venus Lighthouses, the music from Final Fantasies, (One-Winged Angel is cool...) Last Exile's intro song, Geneshaft's intro song... well, there's others but they slip my mind at the moment. Anyone got any advice as to how I could enjoy music cause it really helps to get passionet about God. I felt left out when I went to Aquire The Fire cause I was the onlyone not singing or dancing... just sitting there...

Any and all music? It does seem like symphonic music really works for you.

Myself, I've never been wild about a lot of contemporary worship music. Though well-played, and though both honour God equally, I like a traditional hymn.

I think the only songs I do like with words (at least in English) is Simple and Clean and Eyes on Me.

Hmm... I agree with Shooraijin. Maybe some classical music would do you good. Isn't it Handel that has the Christian symphonies or something? Maybe Beethoven, too. If you like Simple and Clean, maybe try out some techno. Daft Punk is good, and they have an anime movie, Interstella 5555, and many of the songs don't have words -- just nice, upbeat music. (And the movie's clean, to boot!)

Personally, I like contemporary Christian music, but not necessarily the "worship" songs (the ones that repeat the same verse over and over). I also like some good ole bluegrass Gospel, but I know that's not everyone's cup of molasses.

I'll pray that God will bring music that you can enjoy into your life, according to His will for you!

Hm this seems like a jam session thread to me... oh well the mods will move it if they feel the need! Yeah I like video game music a LOT!!! You should consider playing Fire Emblem for the GBA (FE7 in japan) its got a lot of great music that I think will be to your liking. I like the songs we sing at church but I would much rather listen to video game music my self. A great site I highly recomend you try is http://www.vgmusic.com its awesome! Its got a TON of MIDIs that are either remixes or near/exact sequences of the original song! I think you'll really like that site if you try it out! Hope this helps! :thumb:

You know, you don't need music to get yourself passionate with God. The times I'm most intimate with God are actually in times of silence. Who knows God might have a reason for your lack of interest in music?? oh well, I'm just saying that I think there's nothing really wrong with not being crazy about music like the rest of us. But if it's God's Will that you will enjoy more music genres, I shall pray for that then.

I can relate Prinny. All the way up until my sophomore year in highschool i didn't like music. It just so happened that I started to like it. Now I listen to all kinds of bands; well almost anything except for rap/hip-hop and boy/girl bands.... err.... :( But yeah, I never really listened to christian music, but I will admit I have started to like a couple. Like every genre, there are good ones and bad ones. But I have found a select few that are actually quite good. Go figure. But all in time, it'll come. So yeah, I'll be praying for ya.

Hey it is not the music but the heart that God desires. sure for me i do rendomly go into song, but that is me. God has formed us all differnt and it does seem that you do like a type of music.

James 5
13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

Psalm 100
1 Shout for joy to the LORD , all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

It is the joyful heart, just praise His name in anyway you can.
I used to "Follow" Him because i had to....now i would give everything to follow Him.

Me check it out!
