KingdomCome new look? ^^;;

I was told that green and black aren't one of the most friendly color schemes online. So I worked the whole evening yesterday doing some revamping to the layout. Nothing too brilliant...I just changed the color scheme, some graphics and navigational links.

Here's what the original one looks like.

Current Layout
Click beyond splash page to see main page. I guess I need not say that but...

Here's what the new one will look like.

This is embarrassing. I can't do php and made the mistake of getting a hosting package that does not support php (well, I might upgrade it later on). If anyone knows of some tips or tricks which can help make website maintenance easier than plain old HTML, my ears are all open listening.

Alright, please let me know what you think. Thanks!

"WARNING: This site contains Christian articles and artworks" ... lol. Can't be having the easily impressionable minds of the public reading that! ^_^

The colour contrast is much better in this new version.

While the color contrast and some things are well done, I would have to say I like the old style better. Just in general and the general affect that it produces. Not that I would mind the second version.

That was fun, okay Mave you know what? I LOVE THOSE COLORS SO MUCH!!!:rock:

Chibi and I were looking at this and thought, wow, we really like it. I was thinking, however, the splash page has this mafioso dude sitting back in a chair. :cool: Yo, wanna make a deal? :eyebrow: *sneaks off to the back to show some Christian artwork* ;) *hehe*

I do like this so much better than that dark color scheme. When you first told me about it I was kind of scared it would look like a pumpkin, but it's great. ^_______^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I'm NOT responsible for that GN you guys were talking about (I've seen that thread). Alex Ross (I think) created that series and believe me, his stuff and mine are -completely- different altogether. >_<;;;;; So sorry for the mix-up, I don't know anything about the other series until I saw that thread.

Meanwhile, everyone, thank you for your comments. *bows* hehe Chloe, "Let's make a deal, sell your soul to Jesus and in return, He will give you salvation and eternal life of abundancy!" ;) I intend to post this new layout this weekend and keep working on the contents. Yahoo!

^__^ oh hey! I like the new look! The red and gold does look a lot more homely!!! I didn't hate the old look, but something new is always refreshing. :grin:

Perhaps you mean "comely?" Homely is the antonym, unless you mean it to be an adjective "like a home."

Yeah, I found that particularly amusing as well. :lol:

Great job Mave! I really like it, and it does look much more inviting then the previous scheme.

Cool Beans! (Not sure if people still say that :lol: )

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Hey Mave,
What are you looking for in terms of hosting, etc? If we knew what your current host allowed you to do, it might make it easier to help figure out what you can do to make the updates easier. Do they allow Server Side Includes (SSI) - for example, ".shtml" documents? If so, I can show you how to use those to make your site easier to administer. There are other tricks, too, but that one and the PHP ones are the easiest.

Thanks sooo much, OldPhil! *glomps*

...ehh, let me ask the host what they allow me to do. >_<;;; I should know this but I really don't. I'll get back to you when I find out.

Everyone else, yeahh! You have no idea how much your posts encourage and motivate me. Thank you thank you! Glad the color scheme is generally pleasing to everyone, I shall keep working hard! XD XD *dances*

I like both ones. But maybe the old one, just a little bit better. On the original I just know I really liked the effect of the image on the splash page! It was really nice. But I think that changing a layout for a website has to be done sometime, and I think you should, since the old one has been up for so long... ^-^;;

I love the first one, the second one's okay. The first one is very unique (especially in colour scheme but something can be definetly said about green not really being a web colour - I love it but it seems a little dark green).

Great jorb!
