Well, since we have a Genesis thread, we have to have a Dreamcast thread. Feel free to post your setups here.

I own two Dreamcasts myself, and I have:

Dreamcast console x 2
Broadband Adaptor (wired into my home Ethernet)
56K modem x 2 (don't even use these anymore  )
Sega keyboard
Sega mouse
Seaman voice device
Controllers x 3 (two original Sega, one third party)
MadCats light gun
Rumble pack x 2
VMU x 2

Games I own (some of these I have an extra "spare" copy of):

Sonic Adventure (the 2 disc set with part of SA2 on the second disc)
Sonic Shuffle
NFL 2K
NHL 2K
NBA 2K
Virtua Tennis
Sega Smash Pak vol 1 (so this -almost- counts as having a Genesis ;) )
Ready to Rumble
Crazy Taxi (the whole reason I bought a DC in the first place)
Space Channel No. 5
MDK2
Dead or Alive 2 (despite all the jiggle and skin, it's still my favourite fighter)
Wings of Arcadia
Grandia 2
House of the Dead
Chu Chu Rocket!
Seaman (although I don't have enough VMU space free to play it  )
Web Browser 2.0
Web Browser 3.0 (this was required to work with the BBA)
Soulcalibre
Capcom Plasma Sword
Star Wars Ep 1 Racer
Daytona USA

I think I forgot a couple, but those are the ones I remember.

I'm also figuring out ways of netbooting it. Once I get NFS running on my Mac OS X server, I'll be getting NetBSD back on it:

http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/dreamcast/

Any other DC freaks out there?

The Dreamcast was cool, the only games that partiuclarily stood out to me were the Sonic Adventure series, the Crazy Taxi ports, and House of the Dead 2. Didn't care for too much else on the system.

Actually, I thought games like DoA2 really showed off what the console was capable of, and Grandia 2 is a fine RPG.

Since the DC ports have done well when translated to other systems, I think that speaks highly of the strength of the games.

I don't own a Dreamcast, but I enjoyed the core of games such as; Shenmue II, Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur, Skies of Arcadia, and DoA 2 that were ported or sequeled on the X-box and ‘cube.

Yay! ^_^ Finally people who understand the Dreamcast. I've told people that I had a Dreamcast before and they just sort of looked at me funny, like I wasted my money or something. I LOVE it though, I refuse to play Grandia II on anything but the Dreamcast. Right now I own:

Grandia II
Skies of Arcadia
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK Millenium Fight
Mr. Driller
Evolution 2: Far off Promise
Sonic Shuffle
Ooga Booga (by far the funniest and most obscure game I've ever played...)
Bust a Move 4
Phantasy Star Online Episode 2 (my GC characters are better, sadly)

I do have to admit a lot of the games I have were burned from my dad's friend's games. >.O; Cut me some slack, I was younger at the time and I didn't understand that not all pirates go 'arrr'. I do plan to buy Evolution, Skies of Arcadia, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Grandia II in their true DC forms as soon as I can. <3

I liked Sonic Adventure 2 better, but that's because I'm a crazed Shadow fan. ^_^;

Ooga Booga is...how to describe. XD It's like a party game where you fight each other with Shaman/Tiki god looking characters. One of the secret characters that you can unlock is...Abraham Lincoln. o_0;

Oh, wait! I remember that! The Tiki gods bit unlocked it.

Myself, I actually adored Sonic Shuffle. Even though it was a relatively simplistic board game, it had a lot of fun aspects to it.

The Dreamcast was a fantastic system...games like Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive 2, Jet Set Radio, House of the Dead 2 and Crazy Taxi. Heck even that free game, Chu Chu Rocket I think it was called was cool.

I liked Sonic Adventure 1 better than 2 mainly because of the storyline, but 2 has more replay value for me.

I think I'm with Azier that I preferred SA1 to SA2, although SA2 was definitely a strong attempt at transcending the genre.

What's Jet Grind Radio, Volt?

Well, I found a Taito game "Psychic Force 2012" for $2 at eB, so I picked it up. Haven't played it yet.

 That's the beauty of the dreamcast - the most expensive DC game I've seen was $15.

Hmm... *runs off to grab disc folder*
Ah! Here we go...

Unreal Tournament
RE3: Nemesis
Rayman 2: The Great Escape
Q*bert
MDK2
Virtua Tennis
Test Drive V-Rally
NFL 2K1
Soul Calibur
Record of Lodoss War
House of the Dead 2 (with light gun, of course)
Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense
Test Drive Le Mans
Tomb Raider: TLR
Crazy Taxi (even more fun with a steering wheel controller)
DOA2
Shenmue
LoK: Soul Reaver
4 Wheel Thunder
Q3A

I never play any of the sports or racing games, though. I bought the whole setup used from a friend. If it were mine originally, I seriously doubt I would have ever bought Q*bert.

Hey, that looks pretty sweet, Volt.

I've also got Rayman 2, Spoony -- I knew I forgot a couple. Mine actually was some promo deal that came with a cheap T-shirt.

What's the DC Lodoss game? Is it an RPG? Was it an import, or domestic?

It's domestic. It's an action/RPG that plays pretty much like Diablo.

DC games are so cheap because they stopped producing the systems/games + the systems and controllers are EXTREMELY undurable. I know several people who's DC console/controllers broke down within months. Good games though.

I own a working Dreamcast (undurable...ha!). I have the following accessories:

System (original grayish-white)
Controllers (x7)
VMU (x2)
Light Gun (Star Fire Lightblaster by Madcatz)
Keyboard
56k Modem
Broadband Adaptor
Web Browser discs (don't really count as games :P)
DC-X (Gameshark-like device)

Games:
Sonic Adventure 1&2
Cannon Spike
House of the Dead 2
Power Stone 1&2
Marvel vs. Capcom 1&2
Phantasy Star Online
Phantasy Star Online ver.2 (why didn't it come to the PS2...WHY??? :waah!: )
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Record of Lodoss War
Shenmue (terrible game)
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Capcom vs. Snk
Crazy Taxi
Spawn: In the Demon's Hand (still a great multiplayer game)
Sega Rally 2
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Psychic Force 2012

I used to have Soul Calibur, but one of my friends borrowed it and never returned it :mutter: .

shoorajin wrote:Well, I found a Taito game "Psychic Force 2012" for $2 at eB, so I picked it up. Haven't played it yet.
It's a rather unique 3d fighting game. Each match takes place inside of an invisible box suspended over a city, volcano, etc.. Your character has full freedom of movement to fly around the box, executing psychic attacks. As your health decreases, your psychic energy increases (the power you use to perform special attacks), which adds an element of uncertainty to the matches.

undurable? Sure it may look flimsy, but my DC's survived years of being whacked around and sat on and kicked and slammed, etc. I would say the thing's pretty durable (though my NES takes the cake for longevity).
