A blessing.

I met a wonderful man yesterday and I'd like as many of you who feel lead to pray a blessing for him. Allow me to explain.

I recently suffered a flat tire on my way to work. The tire itself was a blessing, by the way - it lasted for over 120,000 miles. Anyway, I went to my local Goodyear to replace the blown tire and it's mate, which also had over 120,000 miles on it. While I was waiting for my tires to be mounted and balanced, I began speaking with another patron, Carl. It turns out Carl is an employee of Goodyear and he offered to give me two of his rebate coupons for my tires, worth $40.

What a fantastic gift to give a total stranger. He even had to get a ride back to his house (neither of our cars were drivable at the moment), grab the coupons and bring them back to me. I was floored by his kindness and generosity. It is my prayer that God blesses him tenfold for his "random act of kindness."

Oh that is so wonderful! I will be praying for him. How very kind of him.

Waoh!? That was you termyt?!

...Just kidding.

That was pretty nice of God and Carl.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

That's so cool, termyt! I'm glad that Carl was there for you. ^_^ It's very encouraging to hear people doing those kinds of things.

To add to that, I'll add a little story of my own.

I forgot my lunch the other day when I was at school and I had 50 cents to my name. Sadness because I hadn't eaten breakfast that morning. Lo and behold, my friend's mom had decided to let her buy lunch that day and had given her a ten. I borrowed a dollar, beause I'm weird about borrowing money from people. Got myself some food and sat down. Then my other friend comes up and microwaves me his extra hotpocket. ^_^ Totally special to me. Kinda small in retrospect, but really cool just the same.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Wow, nice stories, and I think we have something going here. I, too, have a similar story, and it also involves a flat tire. The other day, I was going to school and my tire blew out while I was going up the mountain (a two-way road) to the College. I pulled off the side of the road (the Lord was definitely taking care of me already). I sat there and called my dad on the cell phone, and, of course, a few cars were going by every so often. Long story short, I got the spare on and made it to school.

Later on in the day, however, a girl whom I barely know passed me at school and asked me if I was the one sitting on the side of the road coming up the mountain. She said that she was worried that I had had car trouble and was going to turn around and see if I needed any help, but then noticed I was on my cell phone and just figured that I had stopped to make a call. She said she had worried about whether I really had car trouble or not, apologized, and said that she would have been willing to help. Of course, I said it was okay and no big deal and thanked her. I was just amazed at how nice of her that was to even think about and worry about some stranger on the road that, before then, she barely knew. Although she didn't stop, it was the thought that counted.

God bless the nice strangers in our lives!

Stories like these help me keep everything in perspective. The world can be a ver yharsh place, but there are people out there, just like you and me, who care about the world around them and will reach out and help those in need. I am going to strive to be that kind of person.

Thanks everyone, and thanks rogie_san and Spirit_Wolf for sharing your stories as well!
