The Sims 2

Postby Jasdero » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:32 pm

Yay for The Sims 2!!! I bought it this afternoon. ^('-')^
My computer and it don't like each other, though. I meet all the requirements, but it's still being annoying. One thing that I'm having an issue with right now is that my computer's screen resolution is 1024x768, but the Sims 2 is only showing up with 800x600, and doesn't give me the option of increasing it, so, I've notified EA, and should get a response later. Ugh, and it's also very glitchy. I'm hoping that when I'm able to increase the resolution, everything would be a-okay. Apparently, almost everyone is having similar problems like this.
I still adore it! Athough.. my excitement for the game dropped after the first few minutes with all the graphic issues.... :comp:

Console Games are different. Eveything is standard, but all PCs are different and the development team has a hard time making sure their game works on everyone's PC.

Ha, but I couldn't help myself! I've been waiting for this game for a year, so, I jumped the instant I knew it was out. But yeah, I would have to say that I prefer console games. None of that minumum system requirement and installation hassle to deal with.
Volt wrote:Bottom line, Wait a while for a patch to come out. My prediction is that There will be MANY of them.

Yeah, I definitely agree.
Volt wrote:OH OH !!! Be sure to give us a really good review of the game. I'm dieing to know what new features its' got. I've got SimCity4000 to buy. So...

I most definitely shall. As of yet, I haven't really been able to really play it... There's the irritating glitches with the graphics, as well as homework and studying. I'm aiming to play the game tommorow as soon as I get home. Meanwhile, I need to go study for my AP test tommrow... I'm really starting to dislike my AP classes. I'm not able to log-on to CAA at all because I have a quiz or test every day in at least one of my classes, and there's a heavy homework and essay load, as well. But anyways, yeah, SimsCity 4(000) is pretty cool. I'm fairly certain that if you buy both the Sims 2 a Sim City 4, you're able to put the games "together," and your sims from the Sims 2 are able to go to the city you built in SimCity4. That should be cool. Time to study now. : )

By the way... your avatar, is that your actual eye? If so, I want to say that you've got pretty eyes. They look kind. Ha, sorry, I just needed to get that out of my system. But honestly, they are.

ahh yes it has arived

I don't plan on buying it for quite some time, due to the fact that I think it would kill my current computer. my old computer died when i tried to install more sims expansion packs on it than are healthy...

Well, I think the game looks wonderful and I await the day that I can Join the happy ranks of those who own it.

The sim games have never had a 'demo' I believe.. I think it would be nearly impossible to lock items without destroying the balance of the game. As for SimCity 4 connectivity, that has been something that Will Wright has said that he want's to do with his Sim games. On an interview on the SimCity 2000 special edition disk, he said he want's to make a set of Sim games that connect and trade information.

So... in SimCarDesigner you can make a car, and use SimBusiness to make a company to build that car. Then put that SimBusiness into a SimCity so Sims can drive that car.. and then play Sims 3 or whatever and buy that car, and go to work for that SimBusiness, and so on and so forth. Personally that sounds like an excellent idea if it could be implemented. SimCity 4 kinda started that, but the import of the sims was not a complete one.. The personalities did not remain with the Sim.

That's me when I stayed up all night. I was working on a college Project in game design. I took a break and talked to my Online Paster and things happened and I sent him a pick of my eye. *don't ask lol*

thanks. I've never been complimented, my eyes are weird colors though o_0. going from brown/grey to orange/brown to green/brown to light/hazzel

The flash must have hurt.... I remember when I was taking pictures of my beautiful Pookie, her eyes were watering, even though I was a fairly good distance from her eyes. You just took the picture right there... O_O bright light O_O Ah, your eye color changes? Awesome! : )

YES!!! BUY IT!!!! LOVE IT!!! I had been waiting since November 2003 to buy it, so I was so happy when I found out that it was out. I got it... three days before the official release. ^('o')^

Jah, t'was. Even though my computer passed the minumum requirements, it really didn't work all too well. So, we got an ATI Radeon 9200 video card, and more RAM. After that, it was working better than perfectly, until it suddenly started to make these lines across the screen whenever I moved the view, so, we're going to have to go and see what's up with it on Friday.

Ugh, that must have sucked. Well, good luck.

The word "demo" is unknown to Maxis. : ) Basically, what TroutNinja said fully covers it.

actually, yeha i did the same  I got an ATI radeon 9800 pro (128 mb) for my new computer, which i was planning on playing jedi academy with

and, the "sims connectivity" has appened. You can drive through a simcity with scteets of sim city, or fly through them with a helicopter with sim copter. Old games though, but man, did i have some good times with that game

I'll probably get it eventually always liked the Sims...I mean who doesn't? I haven't been playing many games anyway and when I do get the chance it's usually WoW beta with my guild, Call of Duty, or SW: Battlefront lately.
