Ah yes, the memories. We had suicidal fish, too. We had a 50 gallon tank (or was it 80? something like that) and the fish would jump out every now and then. Usually, someone would pass by soon enough to save it. Hee, but once, as my mother was feeding the fish, one of them jumped out of the fish tank, and my little 3 (or 4) year old brother just smashed it. He just saw it flopping on the ground for less than a second, and smashed it. Poor fishy.

sheherazade wrote:What kind of stories would you write if you did write stories?
They would not be for the weak-willed, weak-minded, weak-hearted, or the weak of faith. Genre is not an issue with me.
sheherazade wrote:What about technical writing?
Like most engineers, I do a lot of technical writing. Manuals, reports, articles, critiques, etc.
sheherazade wrote:The Ramen noodles?
I like ramen noodles.
Kinkosami wrote:I've been wondering, what type of schooling did you have growing up? Did you go to public school, or did you attend a Christian school or private school?
Details of my education can be found on the first page of this thread. I have been through the public school system since kindergarten, and that includes today since Georgia Tech is a public institution.
Sam*ron wrote: Is that supposed to be funny?
It is not intended to be funny. I was merely stating the facts.

Difficulty is not the issue. It is a matter of preference.

I would say I have not gone through a major complete revision in my personality over the years. If anything, I have better control of my temper. However, that is my opinion. sheherazade wrote:How did you get into engineering?
I assume you mean how did I decide on pursuing a career in engineering. As for getting in engineering, the admissions process is fairly similar to most other college admissions process.

On the first page of this thread, my career/educational background should give an outline for my motivations. As for the particular field of computer engineering, I arrived at that choice from a process of eliminating other occupations and my small fascination with computers.
sheherazade wrote:Do you like poetry?
Yes.
sheherazade wrote:What's you favorite literary genre?
For me, it is a question of whether the work is written well or not. I really do not have a favorite literary genre.
sheherazade wrote:If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I never cared for traveling. I am pretty indifferent when it comes to viewing locales on this planet. So in terms of recreation, I would probably not go anywhere unless it is to visit my parents. If it is work-related then by the nature of the trip, I would have to go, but I would leave as soon as my job is done.

With my left arm, I was trying to pick something off the ground, and I lost my balance. As I fell, I put a tremendous amount of my body weight into my left arm, resulting in a fracture. The fracture was not large, but it was still very painful.

With the right arm, some big jerk, who was knocking people down in a soccer game I was playing, came up and decked me as I was running with the ball. I fell on top of my right arm, which resulted in a large fracture. My arm looked slightly bent out of shape because of the fracture. In fact, the fracture was so large, the orthopedic surgeon had to completely break the bone at the fracture in order properly realign my arm. Of course, my right arm was on a tourniquet so I could not feel anything, but it was an interesting experience to see a doctor take my broken arm in his hands and suddenly snap it to make the complete break.
Sam*ron wrote:I have never broken a bone before... I chipped a tooth once, does that count!?
No, not really.
Sam*ron wrote:QUESTION: Do you like to draw, if so, what? And if not, why?
I do like to draw, but I have not drawn anything in many years. While I would like to draw anything, I tend to prefer to draw women if I can. I would like to learn how to draw manga style, and maybe draw my rendition of my parents in various stages in their lives, and as characters in a 2D fighting game. However, my problem is finding time in my life to work on that.

Yes, though I must emphasize that in my previous statement I am not referring to actually creating the sprites in the game. I referring to the pre-production phase where artists are drawing their characters in various poses and costumes on paper.

However, I am also open to the idea of learning how to create the sprite equivalent of my designs, but I would have to learn how to draw them first.
uc pseudonym wrote:If so, I am similarly curious as to your intent and motivation in doing that.
My really short answer is for my personal amusement.

However, I feel the need to explain. Before I became interested in anime, I really liked 2D fighting games such as Street Fighter and King of Fighters, and I really like their character designs. Then, when I became intereseted in anime, I noticed the similarity between 2D fighting game and anime character design. Now, fast forward to several months ago. Back then, my father asked me on whether there is a way to take a photograph of my mother and pass it though an image editing program that will automatically "anime"-ize her image. I told him that I do not believe such a thing existed, and that only way to render her image in an anime fashion is for someone draw it. Afterwards, I personally felt that it would be interesting to draw my parents in this anime fashion, and while I am at it, I might as well draw them like they were characters in a 2D fighting game. This activity, where my interests are combined with drawing the people I love, is very appealing to me.

Who knows? Maybe several years later, I will make a small 2D fighting game that has my parents as bosses.

*shrugs his shoulders.*
Sam*ron wrote:Ouch, what were you trying to lift!?
Something very small and light. I think it was a pencil or paper clip. Like I said, I suddenly lost my balance as I was reaching down to pick it up. My loss of balance is what caused the injury, not the weight of the item.
Sam*ron wrote:OUCH OUCH OUCH! Dang... that sounds like it hurt! I don't want to brake my arm like that.... Did you cry!?
And did the 'Jerk' get in trouble?
Yes, I cried heavily since it hurt badly. The jerk did get some sort of disciplinary action from the school. Maybe a few days of suspension? Regardless, I saw him later still attending. Whatever. It was a long time ago.

Can you clarify your question? A brake is usually a device that slows or stops action or an object like a vehicle. So I am a little confused by your question.

Thank you for providing the lengthier response. It provided a much greater insight into you.

I would play a game with your parents as bosses, probably for that very reason. At the moment I am uncertain as to my motivation in regard to this, but I also feel no need to analyze it.

After some thought, I think should further clarify what I mean by drawing my parents as 2D fighting game characters to others who might reading this. Characters in this game genre, such as the cast in Guilty Gear X2, have unusual attire and really unrealistic, fantasy fighting techniques. Consequently, while there will be a definite likeness of my parents in appearance and personality, their fighting game character renditions will have attire and physical abilities they would never have in real life.

An odd question. No, I have never wished that I was a girl. I have wondered what it would have been like to have a sister, but I never wished to be female.

At the time of this post, I think you look like a fourteen year old girl who has some resemblance with Kinkosami in some aspects.

Huh, I am not sure what to say about that.

I am very ignorant when it comes to clothing vocabulary.

My T-shirts are not tight or baggy. I am not sure what "fitted" means in this context. My T-shirts do fit me....

I usually wear T-shirts that I get for free.
Sam*ron wrote:What kind of pants do you wear!? Tight? Bellbottoms? Flares? Baggy? Or, really tight tapperd jeans?
Well, my pants are not tight. They are not baggy. They are not bellbottoms. I have no idea what are "flares" in this context, but I have a hunch they are not that. I am also not sure what "tapered" means in this context, but I also have a hunch that they are not that either.

I get inexpensive pants that are a little bit loose.

However, I feel the need to explain. Before I became interested in anime, I really liked 2D fighting games such as Street Fighter and King of Fighters, and I really like their character designs.

I love love LOVE the character designs in fighting games!! I never play them but I watch people play because I like to study the character designs. <3 <3

Considering what you've mentioned about your parents' personalities, I think that they really would make interesting fighting game characters!! ^^ And it would truly be fantastical if you made a fighting game with them in it!! That's an interesting thought.....Now I wonder what my parents would be like in a fighting game.....hmm..

Sam*ron, I am not trying to be difficult, but what I typed earlier was my honest impression of you so far. I do not try to imagine what someone looks like if I have no prior information on their appearance.

If you just want me to give a description equivalent to the one you thought up for me earlier, I am guessing you are short (but not short relative to girls your age), cute, and probably longer hair than mine.
Sam*ron wrote:I noticed.. -_-]Oh, it is bad. Real bad. When I watch clothing commercials, most of the time I have no clue what they are trying to sell, and I cannot associate the name of the type of clothing with the actual piece of clothing.

I really do not have preference in brands (because I do not pay attention to brands), but as I quickly looked in my dresser and closet, I have some Wrangler and Faded Glory. However, again, do not take that as an actual preference in brands since I really do not pay attention to that.
Sam*ron wrote:Have you ever checked yourself out in the mirror, as in flexing your strong arms? Just to see yourself?
Yes, since I do work out often I need to see if I am making any progress and if I need to make any necessary adjustments to my routine, diet, and schedule.

Well, since we are on this subject of this hypothetical 2D fighting game, I did say earlier in this thread the following:
myself wrote:Honestly, I am interested in drawing anime/manga characters. I have some ideas floating in my head for 2D fighting game characters based on my parents and myself. (Draw what you know, right?) My parents would be the sub-bosses, and I would be the near-impossible to beat end-boss. (Why? Well, creator's license, and I have this motto, "You have to go through me before you can say you beat my fighting game.")
The whole sub-boss and end-boss structure is inspired from both King of Fighters and Capcom vs. SNK 2. The sub-bosses would be an opponent that a player will be guaranteed to reach if they have won the usual matches against other selectable characters. The sub-boss would be difficult to beat. Reaching the end-boss is not guaranteed since the player will have to beat all previous opponents and the sub-bosses in an impressive manner (and probably fulfilling milestones/objectives). Defeating the end-boss would be far more difficult than beating the sub-bosses.

For those who play 2D fighting games and are reading this thread, I hope this further clarifies the idea that I have touched on in my recent posts about this subject.

Oh, okay. :) Your so cute. Thats fine.

Omega-san wrote:If you just want me to give a description equivalent to the one you thought up for me earlier, I am guessing you are short (but not short relative to girls your age), cute, and probably longer hair than mine.

Yeah I used to be really short but then I grew. :) It was funny. Now I am almost taller than Kinkosami, but still isn't really that tall.

Omega-san wrote:Oh, it is bad. Real bad. When I watch clothing commercials, most of the time I have no clue what they are trying to sell, and I cannot associate the name of the type of clothing with the actual piece of clothing.

Thats okay, most boys don't.. ^_^]Yes, since I do work out often I need to see if I am making any progress and if I need to make any necessary adjustments to my routine, diet, and schedule.[/QUOTE]

Well I meant that and, I meant, like just to see yourself, and think "Man I am so good looking" Or "I am just to strong for... ME!" Ya know. Just for fun.

Oh, yeah... I remember reading this... Hmm. *Hides in corner* ;)

Whats the weirdest pet you ever wanted? Kinkosami use to want a monkey, and we both wanted a duck really bad..

And Kinko still wants a Sugar Glider. They are really cute little things. Here are some pics..

Mayhaps we should change the title to "Omega Amen - His Hugs."

I had more or less presumed as much, from what I knew of you and based upon the reasons you stated in the first paragraph. This would make such a theoretical fighting game more interesting, in that I would naturally attempt to discern what exactly is of your parents and what is of the style.

Yes.... However, as of late, I have not been able to frequently look at them.

These sites include my Livejournal, the Boundless webzine, various Christian ministry webpages, video game sites, anime music video sites, and sites that create videos on combos in fighting video games.
Sam*ron wrote:I meant, like just to see yourself, and think "Man I am so good looking" Or "I am just to strong for... ME!" Ya know. Just for fun.
In that case, no, I do not believe I have looked myself in the mirror for just amusment.
Sam*ron wrote:Whats the weirdest pet you ever wanted? Kinkosami use to want a monkey, and we both wanted a duck really bad..
When I was really young, I think I might have had a very small desire to have an owl or a hawk as a pet, but it was never a strong desire, and I do not believe I ever actually asked for one as a pet.
Sam*ron wrote: And Kinko still wants a Sugar Glider. They are really cute little things. Here are some pics..
I can see how they can be considered cute.
sheherazade wrote:Ooh, do me next. What do you think I look like?
I have looked at your pictures long before you asked this question. However, I can still honestly answer it.

Before you posted your pictures, I guessed you were a little bit taller than most women that were around you. I also guessed you were slender, and that you have light-colored skin.
uc pseudonym wrote:This would make such a theoretical fighting game more interesting, in that I would naturally attempt to discern what exactly is of your parents and what is of the style.
Considering my parents never really physically fought with anyone, what you would be discerning from my theoretical game would be my speculation on which aspects of their personalities would show in the universe and circumstances as defined by the game.

You know, that is a sport. It's called Falconry, it's a sport were you go out in the wild catch your hawk of choice and then tame it and train it. If you would like to know more you can ask Kinkosami, she really wants a hawk and she realy wants to be a falconer. :)
Omega-san wrote:I can see how they can be considered cute.

Yeah, me too.

Okay.. Have you ever had a crush!? On a girl of course. And have you ever like acked weird and clumsy around her?

Do you have a liking of some one now? Or an intrest?

Whats the most pointless thing you own!?

Any chance you could share with us a website that has had positive impact on you or that you think is worthy of us reading (besides CAA of course)?
Is your livejournal purely private?

Before you posted your pictures, I guessed you were a little bit taller than most women that were around you. I also guessed you were slender, and that you have light-colored skin.

What about something that isn't based on demographics of this site or the idea that I posted like I was not someone who looked up a lot? Like hair color?

What are your thoughts on dating?

Did you ever think of going into a different career area?

Have you aver read anything by Stephen King?

Could you ever see me as any of the following:

A political aid?

An Edgar Allen Poe meets Stephen King type of writer in Alaska?

A CIA analyst?

Am environmental chemist?

An English teacher in an island nation of the Carribbean?

Why or why not?
