On September 7, 1997, FFVII was released on PlayStation in the United States. It remains the best selling Final Fantasy game to date. Happy seventh birthday, FFVII! You have taken hours of my life, and I don't mind at all!

FFVII remains my favourite video game to this day :D Whee~!

Ah, so ya don't like Tactics Advance, eh? Well, I admit the whole learning things from weapons is stupid...and I never was able to get ANY mythril weapons...

I didn't like X-2 'cuz it felt like I was playing freakin' Dress Up Barbie. Why couldn't they have kept the job system from Tactics? Then I probably woulda liked it better...

But we both agree that 2 sucks if nothing else...how ya gonna have an RPG with no levels? Do you not consider Mystic Quest to be a FF game? I didn't put FF Adventure 'cuz it's actually a Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) game though most people don't know that...and I've never played any of the three legend games, that's why they're not on the list.

I don't think Tactics and Tactics Advanced should be considered seperate games. And if Mystic Quest counts as a FF game then Crystal Chronicles should too.:P

To be honest, I've never played Crystal Chronicles. Not that I have any intention of playing it...so that's why it's not on the list. And if Crystal Chronicles counts, shouldn't Before Crisis count? I know it's not out yet, but still...bleh.

It's not out yet and it's a cell phone game that I doubt any of us Americans are gonna get our hands on.

What about the Final Fantasy game for the TI-82 graphing calculator? Or are you familiar with that one? (Boy, THAT'S an obscure reference.)

Actually, I didn't include MQ because it's the only one I haven't played. :brow: I didn't want to hurt myself. And I ranked FFX-2 so high because I've been playing it lately and I really enjoy it. Sure, the job system would have been better, but the dress sphere gimmick works well enough and I really do enjoy the story.
Tactics Advance rocked........at first....then it became painful and I realized how bad it was compared to FFT. So I quit and traded it into GameStop to get Devil May Cry and a new DDR dance pad.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FFVII!!! I know I'm alittle late but WHO cares?
You find that you have a weapon, an instrument that
will give you power over the wind and sea.
In one word, you can stop time. It is a weapon
so powerful that even God will bow
down to you and all his angels fall at your feet.
What would you do with it?

what?! I LOVED FF:Tactics Advance! The story was rock-bottom, but the battling and missions were a blast. And the jobs were sweet. Assassins, snipers, yeah! oh well. I guess it's just my opinion. I like exploring and collecting.

I love FFVII, too ya know. Go Turks.

FF7 is a good game, although I've always thought it was SLIGHTLY overrated.

There were a few things keeping it from perfection:

The character graphics were butt-ugly. I could personally design a homemade 3D game on my own computer that would have ten times better looking characters than FF7.

The English translation isn't exactly the best in the world; for instance, when Barret tells you to attack the first boss when the tail is up, which is wrong, he was SUPPOSED to say do NOT attack. Other parts of the dialogue were a little off, sometimes slightly confusing.

They killed
Aeris.
It would really be in SquareEnix's best interest to create a remake from the ground up to match the quality of the more recent FF games. Not make a lousy port for the PSP.

Supposedly, they WERE doing such remakes for FF7, FF8, and FF9, but it seems there has been zero information since that announcement regarding the progress. Most likely either the remakes were cancelled or it was a hoax.
