Disaster Relief Teams

Postby Rev. Doc » Tue Sep 07, 2004 3:13 pm

Disaster Relief Teams from across the U.S. will be traveling down to Florida in the next few weeks. Please pray for the safety of the workers as they travel and that the Lord will open opportunities for them to witness about God's love in the midst of this work.

I have been asked to be a part of a feeding team that will be traveling from our state. We will go down on Monday, operate the feeding unit Tuesday through Thursday and travel back on Friday. A lot of things will have to be worked out on my end in order to do this. Please pray that the Lord will allow this if it is His will.

I will definitely pray for you and the other workers, Rev.Doc. ^__^ May the Lord greatly bless your work.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Father, thank You. We praise You that, even in the midst of tragedy, You are there. Your will will be done. Thank You for the willingness of the Rev Doc and the relief workers to serve. Father, protect them and bless their efforts that in the middle of all of the chaos, Your name will be praised louder and longer than the winds of Charlie or Frances or Ivan will blow.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. I received permission from my church to help in this work. Unfortunately, yesterday our group that was assigned to go received orders to stand down because of the threat being posed by Hurricane Ivan. Hopefully when Ivan has passed we will be allowed access to minister to those who have suffered so much and the opportunity to express God's love and hope it what must appear to be a hopeless situation to many.
