What Jesus is not

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Sun Sep 05, 2004 5:33 pm

I saw some of these "what Jesus is not" videos and they were quite funny. description below

"We had a four week series on Jesus Christ, taking a deep look at what He said and did. It was difficult at times to get past our preconceived notions that had been developed by staunch, starched Sunday School classes of old. This is a satirical look at what some people think Jesus is like. Thank goodness He's not."

basically they redubbed an old Christian Film and made it look like what most people think of Jesus as, and Thank goodness he's not. It was redubbed by a church in North Carolina or something. Please don't be offended, for it does not pose fun of Jesus. and if you think you would be, then please don't click on the link

Those are pretty amusing, as long as one knows what perspective they are coming from. I can't stand those old Jesus movies... you know, the ones where Jesus never smiles and has a British accent. :)

LOL
Well I didn't know this was about movies, but in my hall meeting last week the leadership team did a skit on what Jesus is not . . . everything from a chemist who acidentally made this world to a "jack in the box" type God who comes out when you wind him up/call him.
It was very good ^^

ROTFL!! I watched this with my other Christian offline friend and we were in the fits after that (fits of laughter, that is). But seriously, those videos provided a lot of food for thought after the laughter died down. I'm going to recommend them to my other Christian friends. Thanks!

HAHA! This reminds me of "Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist" .....particularly because of the ridiculous voices.
