Casting out a legion [Update: 9/4]

Postby Aibou » Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:28 am

One of my friends is demon-possessed. Many _many_ demons have entered him and like in Mark 5 they call themselves "Legion".

Today he will be cast out; [OUT OF DATE]
please pray for him and those who are going to be there for strength as we don't know how long it's going to take. Please pray that the boy (15) will be set free from the demons before school begins this monday!

Wow, that's certainly not your "everyday" prayer request...I'll keep you and him in prayer. Please keep us updated.

hmm... I wonder exactly what is required in a Biblical sense is required to cast out this kind of demon? I remember that Mark 9:29 had something to do with demons that will not come out except with fasting and prayer, but not sure if this is the same case... either way, I will pray for that boy.

whoa!

dear God, almighty, creator of heaven and earth,
please ehlo this poor boy, your creation. he needs you veeery much. i know that you can do this so i ask that it may be your will that he is delivered. i ask all this in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
AMEN!

i really hope he is releaved from this daemon!

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

Well, a little background history:
In February there was a "Encounter With God"-weekend: He was freed from internet & computer obsession, believed in Jesus as his saviour and was baptised in the Holy Spirit and in water. After that weekend he was very active as Christian, loves to read the Word, nothing wrong. So by circumstances, I won't mention for private reasons, it went downhill.
So in August there was another Encounter weekend.. and we saw that many demons manifested into him.. even after the weekend we had to deliver him, but it wasn't gone. (Good news is that his older sister now believes in Jesus)
Unfortunately he went on holiday the next week.. and... that time he did not read his bible. The demons came back and took more others into him.. And that's what's of him now.
Ever since the Encounter weekend in August he was not the same again; he started rebelling against parents, elders and so forth.. It seems like his comp and I-net obsession is back..

Nothing happened up till now. I don't know everything, I'm quite an outsider of this whole thing going on that should not have happened. We're in the same celgroup and church if you'd like to know.

~~~~
I'd like you to pray for:
1. The boy ofcourse
2. The elders: pastor, celleaders (PS. It seems there are things with the celleaders that are not supposed to be.)
3. The parents of the boy and his sisters
4. Our celgroup
I remember that Mark 9:29 had something to do with demons that will not come out except with fasting and prayer, but not sure if this is the same case... either way, I will pray for that boy.
Yes, it's like that. But it can also be that the ones who are going to cast him out aren't delivered yet! (PS. Something I experienced with our celleader when she wanted to cast his sister out; Nothing happened, while it was sure she had demons too. It became clear she was possessed too AND exactly had the same demons. If you're not delivered yet then you shouldn't participate in casting out another person. It seems strange, but the demons in person A and B react on eachother.. I learned a lot this summer :P)
Woah scary! Definitley not an ordinary request! I will pray!
yeah it's weird, but when you think about it then it shouldn't be a very unordinary thing.. as Jesus and the disciples did so.
