In my neck of the woods, a riceracer/riceburner is an Asian import (typically Japanese, occasionally Korean) which has been heavily modified with aftermarket parts such as spoilers, new body configuration, etc.

Really? I have always referred to Japanese/Korean manufacture sports bikes as riceburners (or crotchrockets). But now that I think about it, I have heard those cars referred to as Riceburners as well.

Anyway, my cars name is Cliff (or Clifford the Little red Car). Cliffs a ‘02 Mazda Protégé.
He gets great mileage. It usually takes Cliff and I 2 weeks to run his tank down. ^_^

Termyt a riceburner is not a Japanese car. It is any economy car that people idiotically spend hundreds (or thousands for that matter) of dollars to "soup up" their stock cars with neon lights, a big stereo system, a fartcan exhaust system, spoiler, fog lights, and plaster cheap stickers all over the hood. Basically whatever will make it at least look fast, because we all know how spoliers and stickers add horsepower and torque. Here are examples of rice...pretty self explanatory.

she loves the car, but I have yet to convince her to get a NoS tank. or a spoiler. or hundreds of silly stickers for the hood.
