If your computer is giving you grief or that code doesn't work, this is the place to vent off about it. Any other computery discussions are also very welcome :)

You call this the "geek" forum, but in reality, aren't all of the forums here GEEK forums?? Well, maybe not every, but I'd venture to say that anime, in the US and Canada at least, is a VERY geeky thing... Outside of DBZ and Transformers, anyhow. It's a geeky thing for adults to like because we attatch a kind of devotion that's really misunderstood by outsiders and we're looked at as strange and sometimes immature for our entertainment choice. Hence, anime is a very geeky thing... Manga too. And, not video games anymore (anyone can like games now they are completely socially acceptale) but RPG's on the other hand... Geek Central.

However, it is true some techno-geeks don't like the "good name of 'geek'" being "stained" by anime... But I'd almost say they're not true geeks.

In a lot of places, "geek" refers to someone who knows lots about computers.

Yay--a computer-related section! I was just thinking about suggesting something like it the other day. Having a diploma in PC repair under my belt, I think I'll be posting in here as often as someone (myself not excluded) has technical problems. ^_~

(By the way, I've always been under the impression that a geek is a profession--that is, a clown that bites off chickens' heads. I'm totally serious.)

You are correct, MM. A geek was an entertainer quite some time ago who bit the heads off of live chickens. See this deff I got from Websters:

geek (n): see Ozzie Osborne.

Since that thread had not been updated in a while, other computing threads that had been made after it pushed that particular thread back a few pages in this part of the forum. "Buried" was a figure of speech, because I had to go "dig" it out. ^_^

I'm not sure what question you're asking. Do you mean what we consider double-posting?

I think you should create a separate thread for that question. This one is for general information about the forum itself.
