What Games Have you Beaten This Summer?

Postby cbwing0 » Sun Aug 22, 2004 1:21 pm

With school out and lots of free time (for those that aren't working, or don't work for the entire summer), I'm willing to bet that there was lots of gaming going on this summer.

I worked for two months, and I have been relaxing for the last four weeks, giving me lots of time to kill. As a result, I had lots of time to play and beat games; so, here is the list of games that I beat this summer:

PS2:
Samurai Warriors (beat and unlocked all characters)
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (unlocked most of the characters)
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (beat normal mode and the Gauntlet)

SNES:
Gradius 3
Aero Fighters

For the purposes of this thread, I will define "beating" the game as completing it at least once, and unlocking most/all of the secrets within the game if any exist. Of course there are plenty of games that you never really "beat" in this sense, and for those you can simply include any noteworthy achievements. Here are some of mine that fall into that category:

Gran Turismo 3-Purchased a high-performance car in Simulation mode (Camaro SS), bought most of the available modifications for it, and unlocked several of the secret cars earned by winning trophies.

WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain-Played several "years" in career mode, although I still can't figure out the tricks to consistently winning matches :bang: .

Well, I generally am pretty busy, but this summer I completed a surprising number of games I have been working on for some time. Not all of them come to mind, but:

Battletoads
Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda: the Adventure of Link
Megaman I, II, V, VI (waste of my time...)

Yeah...I should probably also list the games that I played, but didn't beat:

PS2:
The Suffering-Got more than halfway through, then lost interest.
Splinter Cell-Played the training missions, haven't had time to do more.
Mega Man Anniverary Collection-Played until I realized that modern games are more fun  . Actually, I told myself that I would play them all in order, then got stuck on Wily's stage in MM1  .
Tekken 4-Played (and won) one match, and haven't picked it up since.

SNES:
Evo-A unique and fun RPG in which you play as a creature evolving through time. I made it to the shark boss (although they call it a "kuralasche" :eyeroll: ), and couldn't get any futher. Chalk that one up to bad game design... :(

Super Mario 2, Pac-Girl, um...er, that's it.

haha well...I've just gotten really fast at RPG's and I can beat the Zelda games SUPER fast...and Megaman I can beat in....geez...under 2 hours lol. The Star Wars games are a little different...They take me longer mainly cuz...I just can't play them all the way thru...I get bored with them kinda quick lol. So I move on to something else.

Oh and this is on top of me working thru the summer and goin on my mission trip to Mexico and still hangin out with friends so dont think I'm one of those hold up in their room all day people not ever seeing the light of day lol

Lol that's how it works now a days Sam. Games seem to be getting shorter and shorter in length. Which that is not neccesarily a bad thing initself. As long as the game is entertaining the entire time I could care less if it took me 10 hours to bear.:)

Well, I haven’t beaten any new games this summer.
I didn’t have much cash to update my library this year.

I did, however, play a lot of Xenosaga (which is a new game for me). I still haven’t gone to beat it yet, as I like to really crush a game the first time through. I’m still doing the odds, sidequests and stuff (and leveling up) before the final dungeon.

But soon, very soon. ;)

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
