Let's see, I like almost all kinds of music. I usually can't stand opera or country, but there are a very few exceptions to that. Favorite bands would probly be Skillet, Benjamin Gate, 12 Stones, 38th Parallel, Big Dismal, Kutless, dcTalk, Jars of Clay, Plumb (older stuff), Superchick[k], Jennifer Knapp, and Evanescence to some extent.
Has anyone hear some of Evanescence's older stuff from their first demo cd?
I was pretty disappointed with Evanescence. (not the way they sounded but what they did.) Like, firsy they decide they want their cd to be released into the Christian world as well as the secular and then as soon as they're pretty high on the Christian music charts, the one guy that thanks Jesus (in the cd jacket) turns around and says, "I saw we were on the Christian charts and I was like, 'What the (expletive) are we doing up there?'" I was not happy. I think they were Christians (or at least that one guy) but something weird happened.
There's this one song called "Lies" on their demo cd and it's pretty clear that at one time they believed in Jesus.

"Lies"
Bound at every limb by my shackles of fear
Sealed with lies through so many tears
Lost from within, pursuing the end
I fight for the chance to be lied to again

You will never be strong enough
You will never be good enough
You were never conceived in love
You will never rise above

[chorus]
They'll never see
I'll never be
I'll struggle on and on to feed this hunger
Burning deep inside of me

But through my tears breaks a blinding light
Birthing a dawn to this endless night
Arms outstretched, awaiting me
An open embrace upon a bleeding tree

Rest in me and I'll comfort you
I have lived and I ded for you
Abide in me and I vow to you
I will never forsake you

My favorite type of music is Altern. Rock like Linkin Park, Coldplay!!!!, Alien Ant Farm, Evanessence, etc etc. but i like others too, like Country (ONLY a few songs.), Classical (John Williams mon!!), some pop/Top 40 (like you know.. um Train) and all others .. I am just happy when i hear music that has a good beat. ;)

Whoa. Someone else who listens to Tourniquet? That's just weird. LONG LIVE THE 80s ROCK!

Coheed and Cambria.

'Nuff Said.
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole

I would also say that I like good music, and for me that can be found in nearly every musical genre.

Specifically, I like:
Classical - Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Scarlatti, Bach, Debussy, etc.
Folk - Simon and Garfunkel, Patty Griffin, Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, etc.
Rock - Audioslave, Bush, a little Tool, good stuff from the 90's mainly
Singer-Songwriter stuff - Sarah McLachlan, Carole King, James Taylor, etc.
Rap - Grits, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, OutKast, some Nas, not much else
Christian - Jars of Clay, Jennifer Knapp, Rich Mullins, Selah, etc.
Soundtracks (Orchestral Scores) - many, many, many!
Techno - Moby, Basement Jaxx, Delirium, etc.
Alternative - Radiohead, Coldplay, Incubus, old No Doubt, etc.

I think that's good enough for me.
