CAA-ites chat on DA!!

Postby Daiko-chan » Wed Aug 25, 2004 9:38 am

Hello, it's Daiko here and for awhile now, I've seen (and wished to gather) the various members of the CAA who are also over on DA- while I have initially wanted to start a club for the members who are there, I do not believe that that would be the right thing for me to do since I have not recieved much feedback on that idea...

Anyway, I've decided to start a chatroom for the CAA-ites on DA
if you join there, you are eligible for instant membership and for more than that- possibly, you could become an operator (but don't ask about that too much now- I'm just getting started, you can discuss that with me at a later time)

I have the chatroom ready, and this is the information for it:

Chatroom Name: daCAA
Founder: ~Daiko-chan
Chatroom Description: a place to chat for the members of the Christian Anime Alliance on DA

Please note: Chatrooms left unused for a period exceeding two weeks will be removed!

I will take the room down if Ashley or any of my other superiors on this site deems it necessary.

and now, the room itself: http://chat.deviantart.com/chat/daCAA

****
a few rules:
-be courteous
-be kind
-behave yourself there as you should here
-have fun!

there, that should do it!
(for now at least)

-Daiko~

I don't think I will ever post my own autobiographical story in the CAA's Who's Who or in the Welcome Area because as a forumite I was raised so that I should never do such a thing- I am open to change though...

I hope to support the room, but I suspect others won't judging by how nobody's there.

DA has a chatroom?? 0.o I still haven't really gotten used to DA's functions. Dude, I had to ask Chapel, "Help! How on earth do I delete messages? I can't find the delete button!" Go figure....T_T

But when I find the time, I'll have to check this out.

Okay, this can work...

Postby Daiko-chan » Thu Aug 26, 2004 11:36 am

Okay, I'm glad that you guys have responded!
So then, let's see now...
I'll see about giving you decent replies.

b0redx3:
-that only occured because I had just created the room very recently- it has been a whole day now, so it should show up fine when you go there but, you must be logged into DA to chat

Kat Walker:
I'm glad that you told me you were there! -you saved me a lot of trouble in trying to find you, and that makes me very happy! :heart emote here: I would like to make you a member of the chat room, would that be alright with you?

Mave:
I see that you weren't aware of this feature of DA... that's fine- it's relatively new actually- this change came into being as of August 17th 2004 when DA's fourth birthday came- so we now have the abilty to chat on DA and it is quite similar to IRC

We're even allowed to make and moderate our own chatrooms, and I am hoping as the current founder of the daCAA chat that I will add all the DA-CAA members to the memberlist as well as to promote them so that they can also exert some control over the chat room. :heart emote of love here:

GhostontheNet:
Yes, I see how that is a problem- it is an open chat though, and we all live in different time zones and log in at different times- that can be changed though depending on how many people come to visit and all- I'll see about what I can do.

Thanks guys!
I'm glad to see what you think of my efforts.
:heart emote... nevermind, this isn't DA:

-ah, wait before I forget if you wouldn't mind
please give me your DA names so that I can add you to the memberlist for the chat

I would like to know who on here is interested in joining
-please let me know if you are as well.

-Daiko~

ah, hah~
-thank you for pointing that out to me, Zedian
I had made this thread for the purpose of interactivity on the site known as: [deviantART.com]
and I didn't even explain much of anything for those who are unfamiliar with this territory.

sorry- forgive this oversight of mine if you please...

Deviant Art (or DA- as an acronym) is a large online art-focused community that will host your artwork for free online
-it is a place to talk about art, to share it, learn how to improve, and do more than this

it has chat capabilities,
a free blog that comes with the gallery
a forum (which I don't think is anywhere as good as CAA's or TheologyWeb's)
the capabilty to comment on people's artwork (and for fellow users to do the same)

and that is basically it.

-it's generally nice, but at times you may run into some problems
and this depends on quite a few things

since DA is an extremely large online community- the site is not available all the time since the servers need maintenance at various intervals- this doesn't happen too frequently though, so it's just a minor annoyance (unless you are there a lot like me and want to do something but can't since they're busy with maintenance
 )

but there are other things to look out for there as well.

-being the internet and all, you will find some users who post things that are very hostile to Christianity -sigh-
don't let this bother you, pray for them
and don't get caught up in unnecessary confrontation, okay?

****
Anyways, that's my quickie guide to deviantART
-if you are interested in more
and about having a CAA community there,
please let me know in this thread
or PM me

thanks in advance!

-Daiko~
