Phantasy Star Online

Postby Sephiroth » Mon Aug 23, 2004 7:04 pm

does anyone here play phantasy star online? if so what version, & what are your charachters like?, i've not long started playin it on x-box live and its a fun game, i love how theres quite a lot of stuff for charachter creation, and its anime/manga style. My first charachter is Ayame - the FOmarl, a lvl 15 force, with purple hair & mint colour robes/dress

I used to play Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast (versions 1 and 2). It is one of my favorite Dreamcast games, and one of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately, the last installment was only released on Gamecube and Xbox, and I am a Sony fan.

I have played the Gamecube version some, but I don't play anymore. Thankfully, the next Phantasy Star (hopefully following the PSO style) will be released on the PS2, but not until 2005.

On the Dreamcast, I played all the classes/races, except for forces. For some reason, I just didn't like them. I am partial to the androids, but find human/newman characters easier to play (due to the ability to cast Resta/Reverser rather than using 'mates ). My highest character ever was a level 196 RAcast, although I don't remember his name.

The next game is entitled Phantasy Star Universe. Not much is known about it, so it might follow either the action orientation of PSO, or the more traditional turn-based RPG format of the older Phantasy Star games. I am hoping that they go with the former, since it is much more enjoyable than playing what is essentially a stock old-school RPG.

In the meantime, a compilation of the first three Phantasy Star games (Phantasy Star Trilogy) will be released, also for the PS2 (and possibly for other systems). As you might have guessed, I don't plan on buying this, as the older games are nothing like PSO.

The RAcast is a fun class to play. It is also one of the easier ones, in my opinion. My second favorite would probably be the HUnewearl, with their high TP and close combat abilties. After that, I would choose the HUcast.

ohh, the new version sounds cool, a lvl 196 charachter is impressive, i'm only 22 so far. What did the Boomas paw do?

I think so...that's a glove weapon, right? I also had the God Hand at one point :thumb: .

Here's the stats on the Booma's paw:

I always liked the attention to detail in the items (at least the higher level ones), on top of the fact that there were so many.

Have it, play it, not online.

Due to lack of playtime, I have one character almost to 100, and others in their 20s and 30s, otherwise, they would be higher.

PSU is going to be an mmorpg, so save your pennies.

Wha, Phantasy Star Online rocks my socks! I exclusively play Forces - don't ask why, I just love them so much! <3 Anyways...I think I have a 50+ level Force and a 10+ level...can't remember anymore, it's been a while since I've played.
