I don't know. I've never been as interested in the Summer Games as much as the ones in Winter. Hopefully, Athens will be interesting.

I actually don't get that interested in the Olympics, despite the fact that most of the sports I've competed in are featured in the games. The sports in the Olympics are the type I'd tend to get really into if I was there watching them live, but on TV it's just not as exciting. (Actually, I get into any sport a lot more live than on TV.) I will probably watch some of the track and swimming, I'm most interested in those, maybe some others as well.

While I don't have any favorite atheletes, I love watching the diving teams and gymnastics (is that a summer sport?)

The olmpics suck. That's all they show non stop for a month. I can't stand it. I want my regularly scheduled programming. They've supposedely added skateboarding as a sport this year, so that could be alright, but that and the swimming is not enough to salvage the rest of the time it's on tv. I like the winter games. Go bobsledding!

Swimming's got a good amount of drama packed behind it this year. Michael Phelps is smokin, and Ian Crocker and Thorpe are lookin equally threatening.

Wish they'd get as excited about our women's team... >_>

I know brian clay! I know him so well, in fact, that I misspelled his name... It's Bryan... He lives in my appartment complex... BTW, in case you didn't know, he's running the, uh, decathelon I think... My parents and our friends threw a party for him before he left. I don't know him that well, but it's still cool to say I know someone who's going to the olympics, or actually is there right now. He got married here while I was living here, and he likes swimming in the rain... He's hawaiian, and the manager (who are our friends) gave him a specialized lei... Hmm... yeah... Anyhow, if you watch Fox, they show the "Man vs beast" ads, they start off talking about the olympics, he's the very first one they show.

BTW, they payed attention to another runner, I think his name was Pappas or something, but Bryan WON the trials and made the record, not the other guy... They only showed Bryan for like a second... :eh:

That's awesome, Bobtheduck! I hope he does well! (along with all our atheletes)

The events I'm most looking forward to are the soccer games (especially the womens; it's so sad that it's Mia Hamm's last Olympics - she was my idol as a 11-year-old XD That was when I wanted to be a professional soccer player), the track & field events (esp. pole-vaulting). I watched gymnastics tonight but unfortunately the US women's team wasn't doing so well...

I love the Olympics. My mornings seem really early when they roll around ever four years, though. I guess that's just an illusion cause I always go to sleep so late cause I MUST see who wins what.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I like to see the Olympics when I can. I really like to see the gymnastics and aquatic events. However, right now as a basketball fan, I am still frustrated with how the USA basketball team is performing.

I've been watching the tennis matches.. I'm glad the Chileans won the gold for doubles, but I wish Massu had beaten Fish in the singles match. =/ Oh well.

Yeah, I've been faithfully, well not really, watching the olympics. My favorite is the swimming, gymnastics, and running. *sigh*

These olympics were really cool! I loved watching the swimming, espceially with the great team we had this time around. Also I know one of the Australian athletes! Her name is Sarah Patton and we went to school and swan together in elementary school when my dad was stationed in Australia! ^^ She only had one swim and didn't qualify, but she's young and will be back ^^
BTW, Go USA! We really racked in the Golds in the last week! We have such great athletes ^^
