Trouble signing up for AIM

Postby Golden_Griff » Tue Aug 10, 2004 1:21 pm

I've tried twice but I still can't login to my AIM. It keeps telling me that the password is incorrect. But I know what I typed! :comp: :mutter:

(takes a deep breath) Could someone help me?

Hmm... It's possible that AIM may be off-line (don't know, haven't tried it). I know that there was a nasty bug found in AIM, though. There may have been a slight glitch with the servers while they figured out what's going on...

Seems to be working fine here as well. Shiroi's suggestion is what I would try first.

Is it a new name? Have you recently talked to many people on it?

Hi,
Did you get an email saying what you password is?
What kind of message do you get when you try to sign on?
You've not had any other internet problems, right?

Oh I shoulda known this was a nooby Griff topic.:eyeroll: :P

Just kidding but yeah what Sher said. AIM chat was acting screwy today but I doubt that has anything do with this problem.

EDIT: Ok I tried to make a new screen name just for a test and I got in fine without checking my email. Sorry Griff don't know what your problem is try again tomorrow...or rather later today.

AIM is being really glitchy lately, especially the chat. -___-

be sure to check the same email address that you signed up with. I forgot my password once, and when it never sent it to my email I couldn't figure out what was going on, til I remembered that the email address I signed up with was a really old one that I didn't use anymore.

You are sure the IM name is exactly right?
What if you deleted the progam the went to the website to re-install it?

Yes, and it looks like I may have to try a thrid one :shady:

No.

"The password supplied is incorrect."

Actually, our computer uploads pages slower due to the lines being struck by lighting somewhere. Also, while I was answering this question last night the lights went out :shady: But I don't think that changed anything.

Nooo the caps lock isn't the problem :eyeroll:

This is unfair and confusing: my brother was able to log into his own account with no problems. :comp: :mutter:

Well...it's probably something really dumb that you'll hit yourself over the head for when you finally figure it out. But what I just said probably won't help you much.
