Moma...?

While Google searching for pictures of the PSP, I came across this little portable console (see pic below). It was on a French website, so I took the text to freetranslation.com and translated it, so it's still a little vague. Has anyone ever heard of this thing before? It seems very expensive! And if they're planning for a release in 2005, they definitely need some better marketing...

"This machine to the astonishing aspect is destined to do to turn a number of games PERCENT, but also to read videos, music and photos on his screen TFT 4" 640x480. She embarks a hard disc 20 Go, 2 harbors usb 2, 1 harbor CF and 1 harbor SD, 2 locations battery for a change to hot, and connectivity 802.11b! The all for an inferior price to $500... The console not being pliable, it will be difficult to put it in the pocket to take it everywhere with oneself. Foreseen availability: beginning 2005."

It looks like a joke to me...just a slightly modified Gameboy with a few extra decorations. I haven't heard anything about the system from game magazines, or internet sources; so, I would imagine that it is a fake. If not, Nintendo will probably end up suing them for making something that looks so much like a Game Boy. Not that it will be very competitive if the price really is $500... ;)

Edit: I searched for "Moma" on Google, and all I found were links related to the Museum of Modern Art.

Yeah I figured it was a joke.

And yes that was about an 8.0 on the sarcasm meter.:P

It could be a bootleg machine. You'd be surprised at literally how many bootleg consoles are out there. They're in the hundreds....

As a matter of fact, my local mall SELLS one of these HK bootleg consoles, complete with an extensive library of bootlegged NES games built in. Blasted pirates get on my nerves.... :mutter:
