I'm not sure if any of you are doing this yet, or have ever heard of it.
If you are new to it, here is a description:
Folding@Home is a distributed computing project by Stanford University that studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. In short, they’re trying to find cures for diseases like Alzheimer’s, Mad Cow, Parkinson’s, CJD, and ALS. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. A program runs and basicly mimics folding and of proteins when a protein misfold you get diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, cystic fibrosis, mad cow, etc.
How can you help?
Simply go here: http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html and download the program you wish for your system. I would suggest the Graphical Client, just because it's cool.
When you've finished installing the file, choose a username for yourself then where it asks to enter a team number, enter this number: 38499
This is so easy to do and it's also helping out.
Remember the number is 38499 the site is http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
Thank you ^^
** Note: THe longer you keep this program runnig, the more you are helping out
