I admit Sword of Mana wasn't the greatest RPG, but it was decent. I suppose a lot depended on whether you liked the ending or not. Oh, and whether you took the time to level up now and then. I did and the game was a piece of cake. ~Yum~

Sword of Mana (on Gameboy Advance) is the remake of SD1 (which was on the original gameboy). The Game BEFORE Secret of Mana. Legend of Mana is SD4, 2 games AFTER secret of mana... it was SD4 that sucked like a hoover. I thought both the original SD game (known as Final Fantasy Adventure in the US, and Mystic Quest in the UK and Europe, not to be confused with the Square America production "Final Fantasy: The Mystic Quest" for SNES which just sucked) as well as the remake were decent games...

Gah... I wanna pelt the people in charge of names at Square America with Potatoes. Getting the numbers screwed up, calling anything they released in the US "Final Fantasy" whether it was final fantasy or not...

BTW, the second song I learned to play on the Piano was Lester's ballad from SD1 (though Lester may have only been his name in the American version... The bard guy who has a nice calming theme) I figured it out by listening to it about 20 times and building it slowly...

Ok, I was wondering whether Sword of Mana was the sequel or the prequel. I've not played the original or the sequel yet.

It's impressive that you can listen to a song and just learn to play it like that. My brother is the only other person I know that can do that. I played piano for 8 years and I could never do that. -.-

Well, the other day I went out to Costco and got myself a PS2 ... and a copy of FFX...awesome game. Right now, I want to get a copy of Kingdom Hearts and Chrono Cross...but my parents won't let me until I pay off the PS2 unit.
I'm back to make a post or two every couple years...

Xenosaga. Great plot. And a main character who wasn't an angsty, whiny, pretty boy.

YES! Another FFIX fan.

FFIX is actually my personal favorite out of them all, although it seems to be severly overlooked by a lot of fans.

The ending was probably one of the best in the series. Definately worth playing for.

I skipped over it when it first came out. Though I eventually rented it but I didn't get very far. Now 4 years later I bought it and I'm loving it. I'm already at the middle or so of Disc 2.

Except for the final boss who:
had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the game.
I am a FF IX fan, however, and I did enjoy the ending of FF IX.

Just got Sudeki yesterday... pretty cool RPG, it's definatly in my top 10, might even make the top 5.

It's got a bit of Zelda and Final Fantasy in it along with an Anime feel (British company I think though, might be the next Rare).

Regarding FFIX (I am now in love with Volt and Azier, by the way. ):
I think with some very convuluted logical gymnastics, Necron actually does have something to do with the game. Although he was never previously mentioned, he is connected to the crystal, which was mentioned by Kuja, the thing at the Ifa tree (the one you can kill with life. ^.~), and Garland (I believe. o.o; ). Kuja's aim was to destroy the crystal and die while ending existance as they know it, and Necron served to end existence once the crystal was destroyed, therefore close connecting Necron to the rest of the game. That thing did seem to come out of left field though. o_o;
http://www.flashplayer.com has no porn links and has this video. http://www.flashplayer.com/music/chocoborobovoice.html

http://www.legendaryfrog.com is the maker of the video, and while they have no porn links, some of their stuff has some sexual jokes (of course, the jumping jacks scene in this one is prolly included in that) one of which (the zelda video) got my link deleted on the zelda thread...

BTW, while the video shows itself to be made by a fan (gotta love the two FFX scenes in Kerrigan's big invention (play it twice to see them both) but one of them spoiled one part of the game for me...) but the chocobo song itself is mocking the series and its fans, and not in the fun way but in the malicious way (you'll find my comments on the Flashplayer site.) I just can't stand watching that vid because of the song...

My favorite RPG of all time , well the one I enjoyed most anyway, was Legends of Legaia for the original playstation. Mostly because of the combat engine and all encomposing and consuming story. Should have been longer but was still long enough to keep me busy for several months of non-stop daydreaming of its glory.
