ChristianAnime.com Gets State Coverage

Postby Rev. Doc » Mon Aug 04, 2003 8:45 am

Yesterday, The State, ran an extensive article about anime sweeping America. The reporter covered the Animazement convention in Durham, NC and I had the opportunity of talking with her. The State is published in Columbia and has readership all across our state. Given the length of the article, I will only quote at this point the section titled Resources:

To learn more about anime, check out the magazines Anime Insider and Animerica, the Time and Newsweek of anime fanzines (we're not sure which one's supposed to be which).

Or go online and type in "anime." You'll fnd all sorts of sites. But parents, please note: Anime runs from "Pokemon" to pornography, so you might want to keep an eye on your smaller animeniacs.

Those interested in Christian anime can check out the message board at http://www.christiananime.com or the site www.animeangels.net.

I hope this will help get some great new folks here.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I thought it was referring to the fact that the 'official' board address is http://www.christiananime.net/ not http://www.christiananime.com

Then again, I'm I dot org, so what would I know.... ;)

Yep. And the DNS updates are only tied to one of them. Meaning if you add a subdomain to the .net, you'll not see it propigate to the .com. But I digress...
It's really cool to see this kinda thing happen!

hehe* at least they got anime angels url right ;)

seriously, how can I get a print copy of that? What was the exact name of the article and the newspaper it was printed in? Do you know of a webpage for the newspaper?

I really hope to get a copy, that would be great for my portfolio and for our news page!

Thanks a bunch for letting us know about it, and for helping plug AA as well as CAA, we need to stick together in the fight to show ppl that anime isn't all childish or porn. And even more in the fight to let the anime community know about God!

[EDIT] I found the contact information and have already emailed them about getting an issue sent to me ::is very excited::[/edit]

Yes if you say that quote slow and stupid like Homestar Runner would you realize it's origin. ]http://www.homestarrunner.com/firsttime.html

And that plug for this forum is great! :thumb: Hopefully it will bring in more people who are willing to help with our "official bump thread" :dizzy:

If you search for just anime, we don't show up.
If you search on anime & christian we are number 5, behind a net ring and some kinda ringtones site...
If you search on christian & anime, we are number 4.
If you search on christian anime, we are number one.

For a limited time only, it's FUN WITH GOOGLE!

Oh, and the board software thinks 'very very bored' is the most similar thread to this one.
