*stomps back in with fire in her eyes* DO I HEAR SOMEONE KNOCKING ON KEFKA?! *stares evilly at CDLviking*

 Just kidding!

I actually don't know who would win, since I haven't played FFVII yet. I think it would be a very good battle! I'll root for Kefka. *stares guiltily and appologetically at Sephiroth* Sorry Seph.

It pains me to root for one of my favorite characters over another, *struggles* but...grr...I must!! Go Kefka!! *winces* Oh the pain!!

About Kefka
He didn't steal the power from those statues till later on in the game so he did it by himself. though if i remember right Sepheroth got his power from Geneiva(his major power not the stuff from the begining of the game)
Kefka wasquite the badguy, i liked sepheroth as well. but they where basically of two classes. Kefka was a mage, and Seph was a fighter.

I agree. It's too hard for me to compare them. They're different, and I like them both in kind of different ways.

(sung to the chocobo theme)

Final Fantasy is an RPG
The only one that I need
It's the RPG for me
Final Fantasy is all that I play
All other games are lame
It puts them all to shame

I only play games that are popular
I only buy the games the magazines tell me to buy
That way I know I get good games for sure
I may have a shallow mind
But with me that's just fine

Final Fantasy; it consumes my life
And that is probably why
I'll never have a wife
Final Fantasy has awesome music
And that is probably why it
Always gets remixed

I always buy the soundtrack to each game
Oh it is the only thing that I will listen to
Oh sure one day it may drive me insane
You may think that I'm a fool
Well I'm here to say "Forget you!"

Final Fantasy on PlayStation 2
With music by Nobuo
And graphics by Wong Chu
It is Final Fantasy number ten
Must save the world again
Right here from my own den

Hopefully I'll get through the game just fine
I don't know why I continue to play each game
They'll be making these 'til the end of time
Oh I guess that I will pay
For these new games 'til Doomsday

first as a mod i say use the spoiler tags. thats not a request. People have already said they havn't played 7 yet, it should be respected.

Then as the Aaron i say
yes made with her cells, but he didn't get all super powered till after he found her. he was indeed a beast, but didn't gain his full power till he found her, end of that since thats how it happened.
also thats a very nice poem.... thing.

Fair enough. I didn't think it was treated like a secret in the game so I didn't bother with the spoiler tags, but whatever you think is best.

FFVI

Yay! Incredible story, despite the 1 dimensional villain... It wasn't the villain that really mattered, anyhow. It was Celes and Locke and Setzer and Terra and Shadow. Ooh, shadow. Rumors abound. Oh, can't forget Leo...

In second Place, I'd definately say

FF8

YAY! FF8 had a superior battle system... The guardian force thing was great, and required real strategy. Nothing near the strategy required for Chrono Cross, though, and that didn't do all that well... Obviously people don't like hard battles... They like leveling up and mindless random battles until they are strong enough to kill any boss by sneezing at it. (though there was a boss that could beat you by sneezing at you in FF6 and I think maybe 8 too, I forget...

I liked FF7 for its prettyness when it first came out, but I never stayed with it long enough to beat it... I had to watch my friend beat it. FFVIII on the other hand, I stayed with until the end. I loved everything about FFVIII from beginning to end (wait, how many times have I said that line now?)

Side note - I wrote Nintendo Power when FFVII first came out on Playstation, and I asked about the CG demonstration from a few years ago that was rumored to be on N64. I said something about it being FFVI, and they wrote back to me in the condescending way like "No (stupid kid) that was actually characters from FFIII." Hahahahahaha... Stupid nintendo power... They feel the serious need to keep their little numbering inaccuracy going... Sorta sad, really... BTW, the parenthetical portion was my own addition based on the feeling I got from the letter.

Final Fantasy 1 & 6

1 because i was a kid when i first played it and it was revolutionary for the times.......it was the game that started it all....and you really have to be hardcore to beat it.

6 (or 3 for SNES in the states) because the storyline and characters were so deep and the graphics and music were absolutely brilliant for a 16bit game.

i gotta give credit to FF9 though.....just for the summonings

I believe I should also mention Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the Nintendo Gamecube.

All I can do is mention it... since I have not played it.

However, in the interest of trying to make this "war" as inclusive and fair as possible, I felt it was worth bringing up that game, in case someone wanted to comment on where it stands among other titles.

I know people say graffics dont matter, you can have a enjoyable experience without super cg stuff. and its true. But i think Kefka gets knocked alot cause he only had a few frames of animation. I havn't seen only a few seconds of the cg stuff for that remake of 3(6) they had on the ps1, but when i saw kefka he was pretty freaky. If they put him in advent children next to sepheroth he would get more respect i think.

Personnaly I belive IX to be the best in the series. It had an engaging storyline, good characters (None of that ditzy blonde chick junk.), and a beautiful ending. I'd say its my favorite out of the four I've played. VII seemed incomplete and had a somewhat lame ending. I've only played the first half of X and VIII but I'd say VIII has the makings of excellence. X was good from what I played. Its just Tidus annoyed me. So doe KH Sora.

I always wanted to try out FFX but never bought it for some reason. Even though its like $20.00 right now. Also I want to try out X-2 because it was so intresting to me that they made squeal of one of the Final Fantasy stories which I think it is awesome. Hopefully they will make squeals to our fav Final Fantasies.

Mine would have to be
Final Fantasy Tactics: I love tactical rpgs and the fact that in this game you can play for hundreds of hours and still be able to find something new. Plus the job class thing is cool, I never did like the Tactics Advanced it never really was as good as Tactics.

Second place...
Final Fantasy IX: I loved the story and the characters (Freya rules) plus I liked how it isn't all human, you have these weird were-animals. The thing I did not like was the final boss, you finnaly knock out Kuja and next thing you know Necron pops out of nowhere.

This is a tough question as I love all games. But I have chosen FF 8 because of the music and junction system. FF 9 takes the best storyline award though. FF X wins my graphic award but a minus for the voice acting (not because I don't like voice acting in a game, because it's was poorly performed). And sadly, there's no award left for FF 7, which comes second in all cathegories except graphics ;_; *a true squaresoft RPG fan*

I am suprised that everyone didn't say FFVII. Which is a good thing, because that's what I get everywhere else.

My favorite is FFVIII. I loved all the FMVs. Loved the Characters. Graphics were pretty. Junction system was good. (It was the draw system that was flawed, people!) I would love to play it again, but my second disk is no good. *shakes head*

The Junction system seemed to me to be nothing more than a slightly modified version of VI's system for summons.

Someone else who actually prefered FF VIII over FF VII and FF IX--shocking! Actually my overall fave is FF VI, there was just something about how well the characters, story, battle system, secrets and general world mesh together. It also had the best soundtrack in my humble opinion too....back when Umatseu-san actually cared about the series.

Ooh, yeah! FF6 had the best music in the series, except for the sephy theme and aeris' theme in FF7... Those rocked, but FF6 had more good songs than 7 IMNSHO. They are making a sequal to FF7 (advent children) and they made a sequal to FF10 (FF10-2), and of course the easily forgettable sequal to FF5 (Legend of the Crystals) but there needs to be a follow-up to the best game in the series, FF6! I mean, it's just begging for it... Well, sorta... Another thing I'd like to see is something to connect the games. I mean, besides things like Chocobos, Moogles, and Cid. I had heard that Tactics gets into the War of the Magi, which FF6 talks about, and FF12 is going to take place in the same world as Tactics... Wonder if there will be more connections...

FFVI is my favorite by far. That game was the turning point for Final Fantasy and made into what it is today. FFVI was the first RPG that could take a mature storyline, complex characters, and not come across as cheesy. And who's more insanely evil than Kefka really?

WOOT! Highfives for all three of you!! I think I'm starting to become a FFVI cheerleader.

I had an idea yesterday. What if they remade or made a sequal to FFVI with graphics like Crystal Chronicles? Or like FFVII? It's hard to imagine! What do you all think?

that basically brings me to my biggest complaint about FFX-2. The story was already tied up. Same as FF3 i mean if they made it for sequel then thats fine, i've heard it said that they planned for ffx to be trillogy but thats a load of poo, they saw an opertunity for money and went after it, thats why ffx-2 doesn't have as good of plot as the other games. I mean X-play said it right, the game should have been called SIDEQUESTS- THE GAME!!!.. so i think that if they did a sequel that it would stink. now if they revamped the game, gave it the new graffics and maby add a little bit of stuff , things that would help the game but not take from the story or charicters, i would definatly want to get that. but a sequel just wouldn't fit. the world was saved, lets move on to the next one.
