Hello everyone,

Eventhough CAA is a safe and friendly place, remember that anyone outside from CAA (as a guest) can view some of your details (location, age, gender and chat system information) and if interested, they can simply register into CAA to further interact with you.

Therefore, CAA as a whole community cannot guarantee that all members are trustworthy individuals. You must always be on your guard. You and I know that there are various individuals who can easily pose themselves as "christians", when they don't necessarily have good intentions. I'm not saying you shouldn't be friendly to anyone here. All I'm saying is that you should always be on guard, especially the ladies.

When I visited Chloe and family, I've had interacted with her, Elric-kun and chibi-chan personally via dozens of chatrooms, email, PMs and phonecalls. We took many months (approx. what, 8-10 months?) to develop trust and understanding among us. My visit wasn't a result of merely a few conversations here and there. I cannot further emphasize that such meetups involve risk. I know some of us would really love to meet up with each other, but pls be wise. Know whom you're talking to and how much you're revealing about yourself.

I care very much for the young ladies of CAA. You need to take care and watch out for such dangers. The Internet doesn't just consist of nice and reliable Christian brothers and sisters. If anyone were to victimize you on the Internet, I suggest you don't keep quiet. It is NOT OK to be harassed.

As for those out there who are bothering CAA members when you know you shouldn't, pls stop it. It is considered a crime to harass and stalk someone online. Please respect other ppl's freedom to use the Internet without fear and intimidation. Thanks.

Nicely spoken, Mave, and I fully agree. Never see someone or give out information until you had gotten to know them for a while. You should also meet them with other people you trust around you. The internet is a dangerous place in many aspects, so be net savvy and be careful.

Adding to Mave and Loch's comments...

Yes, the internet can be a nasty place. Yes, there are a lot of porn peddlers and crazies. But...

If you can get to know people, the internet can be a great place to make friends.

BUT!

You need to exercise great caution. Trust takes time, not minutes. But, the rewards can be fruitful. I've made a life-long friend through this board, and I hope I get to know more people, too. But you can't rush into things.

This is probably irrelevant, and I apologize if I went under your authority, Shiroi.

Don't worry samron. I don't think that's spam. Acutally, you guys (er, girls) are keeping this at the top of the "What's New" listing, and that counts for something. It's sorta been said before, but:

If any of you EVER feel like someone is soliciting information from you that you aren't comfortable giving, PLEASE let someone on the staff know. We care deeply about you guys and don't want anything to EVER happen to one of you. Remember, just because you blow off some creep doesn't mean the next girl will. Acutally, this goes for guys, too. You never know what kinda weirdo is on the other end of that keyboard.

Also when you do want to talk with a guy on here that you haven't before, or the opposite in that he contacts you, always read some of his posts. You can judge a man a lot by what he says (or writes in this case). Of course, just because his posts are nice and good doesn't mean he is (Hannibal Lector was an intelligent fellow), but it is a good way to test that person's trustworthiness.

Just in case you don't understand that... read a stranger's posts before even talking with them.

Thanks for the warning... it's so great to be on a board where people actually care about this kind of thing. My cousin once showed me a site where the most active part of the whole thing was a chat box where people trolled for information and innappropriate things... and it was a site that was geared toward younger users, it's so great to be in a place where there are mods/admins who care about the site's users!

Yeesh, this thread was only started today???

Makes me want to be a knight of the CAA that much more, but being a Soldier of Christ will have to do for now. :) Prayer is currently my best weapon.

God Bless.

I had this happen to a close freind of mine.

She met someone on AIM, and he kept sending her pictures of him, and since she was always with two other girls they thought it'd be safe... [he sounded like a really really nice guy]

Turns out -> The guy wouldn't leave her alone, he VISITED her house!

(He was her age of course) but that's just... ... ... odd. o_0
I'm leaving CAA perminantly. i've wanted to do this for a long time but I've never gathered the courage to let go.

I don't like the sound of this one bit. I mean, if it's one of my sisters in Christ, or just some random girl, this shouldn't be happening. And frankly, it makes me sick that someone would try to do something like this. So, if he strikes again....well I know some people who I can't get a few "things for computers" from. That is my sword for protecting.

While I think it's great the guys here are so protective of us females, I want to say right now that I don't want anyone personally attacking this guy, putting a virus on his computer, or anything of that sort. That is NOT the sort of response the Lord expects of us. Am I upset? Of course. But I'm not going to give into my flesh and exact some revenge. The best response is what we have already done--warn those vulnerable, and keep a sharp eye out. It's one thing to be aware and alert, but it's another to be vengeful or malicious. Remember we're the image of Christ.

I agree with Ashley. I will protect the ladies, but I will not attack this guy nor will I look down on him. He should be shown the love of Christ, just like anyone else.

If this counts as spam, I apologize.

I think its great all you guys want to protect the girls so much, but really, I hope the gals are smart enough to protect themselves. Unfortunately, young women seem to buy into the fact they need some shining knight on a horse to come to their rescue. Please, gals, don't rely on some guy to save you. Get savvy, get smart, and think on your own.

I really appreciate Mave's comment about her visit to our home. She truly researched me and my family. I've also gotten to know Aka-chan, and she handles her privacy wisely. Some of the girls here I really admire how they look out for themselves. My daughter always tells me when she sees something odd, or what may be askew. Be smart girls, and don't count on a guy to help you out - count on yourself and use your brains. Because that so-called knight may just use this opportunity to shine right into your private life - so always be wary and cautious, no matter how popular a guy might be here on CAA, it doesn't mean he's trustworthy.

And, I'm not trying to cause a panic or make you all distrustful of the males on CAA - I'm just sayiing to be wise and smart as a woman. I used to live in L.A. when I was single, and I always parked under lights, travelled with friends and used the buddy system, plus having a basic understanding of self-defense - why leave yourself open.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Two members with Apergers cause trouble and get banned... repeatedly...

http://www.aspergers.com/aspclin.htm

Hmm... I don't know what to say... Sorry to say, I was expecting the big "banned" mark on Bemanisuperstar since nearly the beginning... It may have been totally personal and something I had to deal with, but... It's sorta sad he's so depressed and has such a hard time making friends, but I guess we can only adjust to him so much... Can't endanger the other members...

*sigh*
