Nintendo should take a hint from Capcom and Sega

Nintendo should take a hint from Capcom and Sega

Instead of putting one game on a GBA cart(like the Super Mario Advance series) for 30 dollars I think they should put the Mario games on compliations for the GCN like the Mega Man Collection(also only 30) and the Sonic Mega Collection, having Super Mario Bothers 1-3, Super Mario World 1+2, and maybe a few more on one disc. I mean sure they did something like that with the Zelda disc, but it didn't even have all the games, and it was only a limited edition, so people who now want it have to pay some outragerous price

Uh, how many hundreds of thousands of copies of all the original NES and SNES Marios and Zeldas were moved? They paid off the programers ages ago, the only profit to worry about is the present production costs, and these games are still moving, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I agree completely, Nintendo should put out more compilations of their classics (I'd prefer them on the 'Cube, but that's partially because I don't have a GBA yet) instead of one game on a cart and charging $20-$30 for 8 and 16 bit games.

On the Nintedo Power forums, someone asked what classics should be rereleased, I said all of them, they told me that there wasnt room on a 1.5 gig 'Cube disk. My math came up with room for 4000 NES games on one disk. I don't know about how many would fit on a GBA cart, but it should definately be more than one.

PS Locke where did you get the Mario Kart av? That rocks :thumb:

i just picked up 2 days ago the original NES metroid, super contra, SNES secret of mana, lufia, mario rpg, and Genesis phantasy star 2

i'm starting to turn into a nostalgic geek

(was late for work this morning cause i was up all night playing Shining Force 2)

Seems as if there is alot of Nintendo opposition here....anyway, Sega wouldn't exist any longer if it weren't for Nintendo.

i love nintendo... but they really are all about money. i couldn't believe it when i saw the two zelda disks i got for free was selling for 50 bucks a piece at EB. i got one free for preordering windwaker, and the other for regestering my 'cube and 2 games. the NES legend of zelda is on one of those disks, the same one that was released for the gameboy advance for 20 bucks...

It's a good idea, yeah. but they're just not a lot of money in the idea.
people buy the one disc, and that's it.
I like them on the gba better, myself. Portable is the name of the game.

As RS said before the profit was made years ago with the orignal versions of the games.
