I would have to agree with FFVII. There was just somthing magical about playing that game. Something I know will always stay with me, and is likely the reason I like RPG's so much.

However, FFVIII was such a great game as well. It just felt so fresh and new.

On the other hand FFX was so bright and colorful, adding some great elements to hopefully FF games to come. (swaping characters in and out of battle, and voice acting)

Thinking back though FFVI (or FFIII for SNES inthe states) had a wonderful story and lots of characters to choose from.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

VII was superior to VIII in every way! At least no one said IX. I've heard good things about VI, but I've yet to play it, it's on my list of things to do this summer.

Sephiroth is by far the best villain I've seen, EVER!

In everyway? (watches as Ben Stein hands him some eyedrops for his obviously red irritated eyes) the only thing that 7 had over 8 was Sephoroth . so (sticks tounge out)THBBBBBBBBB!!!

Final Fantasy X, mainly for the characters, the effort in making a complete fantasy world, and it had a black-haired character that looked good in black clothes with a deep personality (Lulu).

I would give honorable mention for Final Fantasy Tactics since I like strategy console RPGs, and for Final Fantasy VII (showed that RPGs is a legitimate video game genre to be fused with the latest advances in multimedia presentation and technology) and Final Fantasy VIII (very good characters).

I never played Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, or Final Fantasy III (the one that has never been released in the United States). Of course, Final Fantasy XII has yet to be released.

A lot of people like to put Final Fantasy VII as the best. However, after recently re-playing it, I wonder if our nostalgia is making the game better than it really is. (Note: I am not saying Final Fantasy VII is not a great game. It is. Until Final Fantasy X, I had Final Fantasy VII on the top of my personal list.)

Of course, I like them all since I am a Final Fantasy fan and therefore incredibly biased.

Yes I forgot about Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. :hits_self They were both awesome games and advice for people who never played it, to play it! They had a awesome system called a job system (people who played FFXI knows what I am talking about). It was a fun experience with the job system. Well my personal reason for me choosing FFVII was because that was my first RPG ever. I was so emotional attach to it and when that special event happen to Aries (People who played FFVII know what I mean) it made it more personal.

The only thing VIII had over VII was graphics. And the job system dates way back before tactics.

X was a great game, but it didn't have enough FF tie-ins. It had Cid, Chocobos, summons, and an airship. Where are the moogles, and Odin, and other FF greats?

Final Fantasy V to be precise... I believe. However, I think Final Fantasy Tactics utilized the job system better than Final Fantasy V.

Moogles, Cactuar, and even the small little alien from Final Fantasy VIII were some of Lulu's dolls. Biggs and Wedge could be recruited as Blitzball players. I am not sure about Odin.... It has been around two years since I played it. A lot of the tie-ins were in very minor roles in Final Fantasy X.

OH, CRAP! You're making me pick! Um...umm...ummm...

FF3/6 was a beautiful game for its time. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to finish it.

Tactics was awfully cool, but rather long-winded in the battle category. I mean, I like a good fight now and then, but a battle long enough so you could file your taxes waiting for your next turn? Sorry, no.

FF7 was best in storyline, and had good charater development(i.e., Cloud and Barret). But the battle system was slightly simplistic, and with no timed hits. The materia was great to mess around with, however.

FF8(another game I never finished) had the most complex status-changing system, via the GF and magic equipping. I liked the fact there was no MP, and that you could simply draw spells from enemies.

FF9, contrary to popular belief, while subpar, was nonetheless enjoyable and kept me and my sister occupied for a good two months. The last boss was too easy, though...

FFX is next on my list to play, but I've watched enough to know it's up on the list of Final Fantasy greats.

FFX-2? Nobuo Umatesu not doing the music? Only three party members? Saturday morning cartoon scripting? NO! I REFUSE! I REJECT! I OUTCAST FINAL FANTASY X-2!

FF6 was indeed a fantastic game, and if any of you haven't played it, you're seriously missing out. It has the best storyline of all the other games.. the only reason why I think FFX is better is because of its music score, scenery, and just general coolness (difficult to explain)

definatly FFX... that game was amazing! i'm definatly an auron fangirl after that... sure, tidus and yuna had their stupidly annoying moments... but that's when my friends gathered 'round the console, and pointed and laughed.

Also for those of you online gamers, FF11 is very awesome as well!

I've only played IV, VII, and X. I was borrowing IV from a friend and had to give it back. It was really good though - what it lacked in visual flash it made up for in story content. VII is great though, and I'm currently splitting most of my game time between that and X. So for all that, I honestly can't say which is the best.

I don't know, but I happened to dislike just about every character in FFX.

Now FFVI. Who can forget the Human-loving, fast-talking, street-smart, SLAM-dancing MOOGLE!!! Or how about Shadow ("He'd slit his mama's throat for a nickel.", "Just need `nough to feed my dog. Say, oh... 3000GP."). Not to mention Interceptor, who owns Angelo in every way imaginable ("The dog eats strangers."). How about Celes and the Opera? The Aria de Mezzo Caraterre. What about Kefka ("Life... Dreams... Hope... Where'd they come from... And where are they headed? These things... I am going to destroy!", "
Why do people rebuild things they know are going to be destroyed? Why do people cling to life when they know they can't live forever? Think how meaningless each of your lives is!"? The best FF villain. Yes, better than Sephiroth. Insanity is cool. The legendary Kefka laugh!

And that, my friends, is why FFVI utterly pwns FFVII and FFVIII and FFX.

For your enjoyment, other tidbits from FFVI:

Celes: Sabin! You're alive!
Sabin: But of course! You think a minor thing like the end of the world was going to do me in?

Why not? I don't have anything to lose but my life. . .and I got that for free!
- Setzer

I will destroy everything! I will create a monument to non-existence!
- Kefka

If something were to happen to me, all the world's women would grieve!

I can't help but wonder which of the Final Fantasies will be the final fantasy. (Sorry... I shouldn't laugh at my own jokes. :red: )

I guess my favorites are 1, 4, 8 and 10.

Well, I'm going to go against the grain and say: FF9. I found the story enojyable, and it was the one Final Fantasy that I actually cried while playing. The characters seemed so much more real to me than they did in 7 or 10. ^^ FF9 forever~

I say W00T to you brotha!! Great minds think alike!! FFVI is the best!!! Kefka rocks like...A LOT!! The music, the archvillain, the storyline, the archvillain, the characters, the villains, the archvillain, the gameplay...did I mention Kefka, the archvillain? All of these things were AWESOME!! And all of these things are what makes a videogame great!! Oh my gosh the storyline was soo good!! Kefka forever!!

I've never played FFVII (can you believe it?!), but I know from Kingdom Hearts how cool Sephiroth is. FFVI sounds really cool. It's on my "rent and see how it is" list. I really like Sephiroth a lot!!

Since I'm hearing all these good things about FFX, I just might rent it sometime. :thumb:

I got FFX at a yard sale a little over a week ago. I asked the guy:
"How much for F.F. Ten?"

"What, Final Fantasy?"

No, Fidgeting Freeloaders "Yeah."

"Ten bucks."

A little steep for a yard sale, hm? "You sure you don't wanna go lower than that?"

"Alright, five."

And that, my friends, is called haggling. "Deal."

Having not actually beaten VI yet, I can't say definitively that Sephiroth could mop the floor with Kefka, but I remember in a couple of fights that he was a total wuss. I like my villains to be menacing.

actually i think praportionally from game to game Kefka had more power then sephoroth. The few times you fight him in the game it was only Kefkas shadow and it could still tear up on people.

That was all using stolen powers though (if I remember correctly). Sephiroth could wipe the floor with anyone on his own. Sephiroth was a doer, while Kefka seemed to be a plotter.
