Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle 71
Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing 77

Sadness and happiness intertwined. For all that it wasn't as good as the first show, FTSW was pretty good on its own merits. Ah, well.

Sword Art Online 57
Guilty Crown 80

Wow! I'm surprised at these two. Haven't seen either of them, but I thought they were the popular kids.

Ah... the self-fulfilling prophecy... If I had put P4A in fourth, SAO would be sitting pretty. :hits_self And in one fell swoop, every anime I've seen has been taken out.

Speaking of surprising DQs I have to say that I'm surprised that Another didn't make it even into the second round. I had my doubts it could enter the tournament but I thought that at least it would advance once. It had many flaws (and some unintended hilarity) but the underlying mystery was cleverly laid out with with all the hints hidden in plain sight so someone /really/ paying attention could solve it. That's actually very difficult to manage and a feat that I believe should warrant some credit. Anyhow:

@Crossfire: It could be because Gintama is not widely known as it should be. :< A lot of super long series are like that. (One Piece wouldn't have made it either, despite being great and probably one or if not the most popular anime in Japan inside and outside the otaku society).
Though, actually, as great as every Gintama episode is, they really outdid themselves in the Enchousen arc. Ah well, we must move on, leaving a trail of tears and regret behind us.

I'm disappointed that Psycho Pass somehow got through, but it's interesting that Smile! Precure tied it up.

I feel weird putting NR first, because the ending really hurt the show, a lot, but it's the only one in this grouping that I've seen more than a few minutes of.

As always, the order is: things I've seen, things I might be interested in watching, things that sound cool, things I know almost nothing about, and lastly, things I saw and hated.

I think many people didn't watch it, but the hilarity of absurdity was a huge flaw. It took what otherwise was a suspenseful and intricate mystery novel, added a bunch of random, overly-dramatic deaths, which ruined the atmosphere of the setting, and then added their own "hey look here's the answer that makes no sense at the time" parts. Classic P.A. works adaptation. But hey, it was certainly entertaining.

I actually dropped Another halfway through because the absurdity mostly had to do with how absurdly boring it was.
