It doesn't give me the option of setting it to prompt, so I'm worried about a flyby virus or spyware instalation... (of course, IE does have a prompt setting, but it doesn't always work and a lot of spyware got installed with no prompt from popups...)
Honestly, I haven't changed the settings. I know that it will prompt by default if you want to install things (like plugins and whatnot)... ActiveX won't work at all, so that shouldn't be a problem (it's the biggest open spot for bad stuff), and I know I had a site one time which had an EXE file embeded in the banner ads on the page, as I recall Firefox fussed about it with a dialogue box but didn't allow a run/install at all (good thing too).

Check the extensions page, you can find it via one of the folders on the bookmarks menu that comes pre-installed with Firefox. There is an extenstion I think that will do new windows as a new tab... otherwise I simply right-click and open as a new tab (I think there is a hot-key combination that will do it too, also as an extansion)....
And while you're getting extensions, you might want to pick up Adblock as it will give you the option of blocking images and such, it doesn't come with any definitions pre-installed, but you can quickly get rid of some of the common ones by replacing text with wildcards when you block the image and it'll kill off the related files (I did notice that if your filter list get's big it can sometimes slow down Firefox, so you might want to either hunt for a list of common filters or pick-and-choose your battles.

Never noticed that.... then again my use of IE has mostly been on my Mom's machine, and that one is just faster all the way around. Maybe there is a setting somewhere that you can (or have) fiddled with to alter the speed of playback.

Most likely you'll find it broken, and considering that I think I crashed my Mom's brand new PC running XP with it, it shouldn't be a big loss. I'd recommend hand coding, maybe picking up something like Orb to help automate some page generation. I believe this was an issue before with using Sun's Java VM rather than the one that came with IE....
Sadly Yahoo seems to be in Microsoft's back pocket or something. More and more I find that they are less non-IE friendly. If they keep up this trend I feel I will find myself parting ways with Yahoo.
