"Hippie music" isn't a genre, so really, what are you putting in that category? Anything that is singer/songwriter, folk, and turned-down alternative? Or is it anything that just doesn't have a sick beat that makes you wanna get crunk? Or is it music that makes you have to think about its deeper meanings that makes it "hippie"? I mean seriously, it's okay to not like a genre of music (like I think the stuff you're posting is terrible, and thus my opinion is that you, in fact, do not have a great taste in music), but at least know what the genre it is that you don't like instead up just calling random stuff "hippie". At lot of modern bands and artists that you like were probably inspired by the Doors, they're pretty important.

"Tomahawk" - BT feat. Adam K.

Oh jeez, seriously Xeno? I'm not gonna get into an argument about genre this and genre that. And what's with all this "get crunk" stuff? Are you seriously trying to offend me? I could say the same about you that you have awful taste in music, but what will that accomplish. I'd expect this kind of petty argument in a secular forum, not in a Christian forum. I just don't care about that particular song of The Doors. They probably have great songs, but that particular song was just boring and the lyrics were gibberish to me. Just, please stop getting butthurt over this Xeno and move on.
Anyways, I give the song above a 2/10.

Yes, seriously. You want to call something hippie, and it makes no sense to do so. At least give some parameters to what you consider to be "hippie music". And as far as our petty little argument goes, I really like music, like, a lot, so it's not petty to me. I am also not a Christian, despite being on a Christian forum, so =/

Anyway, that last track gets a 6/10, I like some 8bit stuff.

Fine. Hippie music to me is any hippie singer/songwriter of the 60s, 70s, 80's revival, who plays any genre, from country, to slow rock, to rock, to new age, etc.
So The Doors counts as hippie music. If that doesn't satisfy you, then, oh well.

Song gets a 6/10

5/10 - The singing was kind of awful, but the rest of it was cool.

4/10. The music itself is all right, but the vocals detract from it.

5/10 - Well, at least the electronic parts are actual breakbeat, but over all the music being used to make this track doesn't feel like it really belongs there. Kind of hard to explain, but it just doesn't feel natural.

10/10 - That was great. Not something I'd listen to often, but certainly appropriate for a number of situations and places I like to frequently that have opted for more modern styles of music recently.

Man That was great. 10/10 for both awesome nostalgia, and just a nice song. Helps that I loved the video too, and that it reminds me of Jamaraquai.

Speaking of nostalgia, here's an undead band from Denver,CO.

The track is a 4/10, but Beastie Boys were 7/10. So I'm giving that a solid 5.5/10.

10/10 not a bad cover. If I'm not mistaken, the original was by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
