Abstain. Since the result doesn't matter much and I haven't seen Paprika, I'll abstain this time.

Group B
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (2007) Sorry MA, but TTGL HAS to make it to the next round. Kon-sama will be already represented by two other of his great titles.

Group C
Abstain

Group D
Macross Frontier (2008) Yep, biggest fan of Macross here, always have been. No other reason to vote.

Group F
5 Centimeters per Second (2007) I'm gonna vote for pure visual candy in this one

Actually....
If Macross can win big today, and Madoka shuts out Haibane Renmei tomorrow....Of course that would require an unlicensed mecha show beating Ouran. 8|

I do like Renmei, but not as much as I like Texhnolyze and Lain. And while I don't believe that Madoka is the best anime in the mahō shōjo genre (Personally, I believe that Tutu and Full Moon are the best anime in the maho shojo genre), it is pretty powerful, compared to other mahou shoujo animes, and the enjoyment per second factor is pretty great...what would normally take a normal series about 26-300 episodes to do, Madoka manages to do it in 12 which greatly increases the impact upon the viewer.

I just seriously don't believe that Ouran is one of the 16 best anime in the last decade, guys. Just not. It's like saying that Ranma 1/2 is one of the best anime of the 90s (I love Ranma, but I won't ever try to say that.) Anyhow, that's not for me to decide, let's take a look at the results:

Group A
Spirited Away (2001) 3
Paprika (2006) 6

Group B
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (2007) 5

But it isn't. As the tournaments are currently run, the only thing you can prove is that the winner is first, mathematically. You can't accurately assign the second, or third, or nth place titles without running more matches (O(log n) of them for each).

Yeah, I know that. However, since it's a tournament based around popularity, the closer a position is to first, the more likely that it will be close to its "true" position according the nth tournament where it came the winner. I'd dare say that if I made a second tournament minus the winner of this, the top 16 of that one would include over 10 or 12 titles from this tournament's top 16.

Anyway, since no other tournaments will be run, what will go down to history are the results of this one, inexact as they are.

No, that's not correct. You don't run additional tournaments to determine the nth place position, you run additional matches.

For example, to determine the second place title, the loser in the final match would need to match up against every title that lost against the final winner, which is at most the height of the tree, or O(log n). The third place would be determined similarly by going up against all those who lost against the second place title, and so on. The outcome of the tournament determines which titles get additional matches, so there's only one tournament.

Because people didn't vote for it? I think it's a very common rookie move to think Code Geass is on the top of the food chain, but it really isn't. It's just a decent anime that is easy to get in to. I'm not gonna say it's bad (A bad anime would be something like Roots Search: Life Devourer X or Macross Zero), but you're in for a very pleasant surprise if you think CG is one of the best that anime has to offer.

Well, honestly, while there are definitley many ways you can look at an anime(or any piece of fiction) that are not subjective, certain aspects when someone looks at an anime will still be looked at from personal interest, or what they personally thought of a certain work. Some people are going to say Code Geass is one of the best anime out there (even the veteran watchers like you) and others are going to say its not as good as some of the really good stuff out there. Overall, it all stems from personal viewpoint.

Its honestly his personal opinon, and no one can really bite at each other for opinons, right? (especially on unimportant things like anime.) Now personally, I really had not seen much of Code Geass. I like certain aspects of it, but if it was put up against an anime I had seen, or really DID like, I would vote for that.
