Finished éX-Driver. I liked it, but the over all concept seemed pretty stupid. Might make a review for it if there isn't one. Onto Wangan Midnight!

Hyouka, Oh, goodness, I just love the members of the classics club so, so much~! and Sword Art Online, which has such an neat main character! I seriously like this guy, he's the usual, kind of dorky personality main character, without being a pain, and he's still a bad@ss while doing so. And Asuna is becoming less Tsun and more Dere, which is great. :thumb:

I just finished Baccano!. Epic awesomeness, highly recommended. Sigh, why did it have to end? On to Durarara!! I suppose. But please, someone warn me if the violence is worse.

Still watching Brotherhood and Accel World. I'll finish them... eventually.

I finished watching Bubblegum Crisis, which was interesting. From what I can gather BGC was a big noise among anime-watchers in North America in the early 90s; then it was reassessed by the next generation of anime people, some of whom had it forced on them in university anime clubs and didn't much care for it; and then it gradually faded from fan consciousness.

So it's a collection of pretty well-animated and fairly self-contained OVA episodes -- if there was an over-arching plot it was subdued and never really went anywhere because BGC was cancelled -- about some vigilantes fighting weaponised, er, androids, I think? And I thought it was alright! Not perhaps the be-all-and-end-all of anime, but an interesting thing from a different kind of anime industry. I'm glad I watched it. There were some startlingly good robot/powersuit battles in there, and it had a lot of 80s music in it which was fun if not always good.

(Content-wise, if anyone wants to know, it's at the late-80s OVA level: frequent, sometimes bloody violence, and brief nudity.)

Just finished Moretsu Pirates.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it would have been nice for the final antagonist to get a few more episodes to explain who she is and what she does.

Violence/blood isn't. There is, however, an episode with some (undetailed) female nudity. There are reviews covering other stuff here.

Yeah, thanks. Violence was the only thing I was really concerned about 'cause Baccano! is pretty heavy, so I should be fine with everything else.

Anyway, back on subject, I watched the first 2 episodes of K-On! with my 13- and 10-year-old brothers. Strangely, the 13-year-old was more interested in it...:eyebrow:I didn't expect either of them to go for it.

I strongly recommend you to watch Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 which has a fully wrapped up story and is basically more of the stuff you liked of BGC with even greater production values.

I dunno, I hear bad things about it trying to have a plot. And how can a 26-episode late 90s TV show have better production values than a late 80s money-sink OVA? That staff doesn't look as promising either.

Admittedly, my judgement is tinted by being watched when I was younger and more impressionable (and had seen less anime altogether) but I remember clearly thinking "man, this looks slick". Also, my comparatively lower opinion of the production values of BGC (which I also watched around that time) may be purely based on the character design. So yeah, take my advice with a grain of salt.

Having said that, I'll stand by my opinion of its plot. I thought (and still think) it has a superb sci-fi premise that was carried throughout the series with a few well placed twists and a satisfying end. I do think the series suffers of taking itself a bit too seriously (compared to BGC) and pacing problems but it was all worth it in the end.

Finally finished Usagi Drop!!! (It only took me several months)
Very nice ending.
Just based on the last episode, Daikichi's family belongs in the "Are you Awkward" thread. Rin is the only normal one, at least from my experience.
The only sad part is now I have nothing clean, relaxing, and family-oriented to watch when I'm bored.
