Watched the first 8 episodes of Kemono no Sōja Erin (The Beast Player Erin, or just "Erin" on crunchyroll...) wow that a good fantasy/Epic adventure story so far and it's 50 episodes in length. It's from the team that did Seiri No Moribito... so, yeah it has good story flow! Really looking forward to continuing with it!

I really liked Pet Shop of Horrors. It's really unique. It's too bad they never finished it.

I peeked at that show and couldn't stand it. I take it that it gets less boring after the first episode?

Also, I'm back to watching After Story. I'm actually able to distinguish more of the Japanese now, which is really cool.

Re-watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, this time with my family. I found a lot of foreshadowing that I hadn't noticed before.
Also, I now have a new nickname for my sleepyhead brother: The Boy Who Slept Through Time. XD

Re-watched Summer Wars, also with my family.

Finished Chihayafuru. Very good series. The plot is simple, maybe a little repetitive, but I love the characters and those adorable moments.
Also...
Taichi's new sadistic Karuta FTW!
I know there's very little chance of a second season, but it would be awesome if they made one.
I really want to read the manga as well, but it isn't licensed and the scanlations either aren't up to the anime's ending point yet, or they're just of the most recent chapters, none in between. I guess it'll have to wait a few months. Eh, I can handle that.

I was planning on rewatching this already, but now I really want to go do that... Foreshadowing I didn't somehow didn't notice could quite possibly make the ending more enjoyable.

Watched the two Patlabor Movies. The First one was neat, but the second one was teh real deal, man. Patlabor 2 did the whole techno-thriller thing way better than any Tom Clancy (or Tom Clancy clone) book or movie.

Detective Conan episode 652 - The killer is either the old guy or the secretary. It can't be the wife, since she wasn't near the cake to poison it, and the maid is too cute to be a murderess.

Eden of The East Movie I and II.
I liked The King of Eden, it was very enjoyable, so it gets a 8/10. The second movie, Paradise Lost, was also really good, but the ending was a bit lame,
erasing the memories of the remaining players was unfair. Seriously, and I didn't like how it messed up my pairing of Takizawa and Saki. I did like how in the very end, after the credits, Takizawa smacks Mr Outside like he said he wanted too. That was awesome. =3
7/10.

Also, Cowboy Bebop – I bought the complete series on a whim (I don’t usually do that, but I’m confident with CB), because the price was good and I was in an anime-buying mood despite the lack of variety in all the stores lately (at least, the lack of my favourites). I shall embark upon my CB journey (with that fabulous opening sequence) soon after I catch up on some other anime. ^_^

You won't regret this. And the intro is just a sample of the amazing soundtrack that will take you through this series.

Borrowed Kuchu Buranko (Welcome to Irabu's Office) from the library and watched it on its entirety. It was... interesting. I don't regret watching it but I doubt it will leave any permanent mark in me. Funny at times, emotional at others but it was all too scrambled around with the unwelcome zaniness and dubious techniques of the main character, the psychiatrist, who only occasionally helped the patients. I think Paranoia Agent made a much better work of the general premise, being much less obvious while being much more inventive and generally, more compelling.

OK, so it's magical girl stuff, I'm not too familiar with the genre, but whatever, everyone says it's good, so I'm trying it out, and it's pretty good, the Labyrinth world looks awesome, like nothing I've ever seen before and HOLY COW WHAT WAS THAT

"Mysterious Girlfriend X" - Episode 5
- The more I think "Oh MAN this story is sick...along comes something to bring me back in! It's an intriguing love story, and I think I have it figured out to a point...but time will tell...the beach episode was very awesome. One wonders if the creators intended for tanned Urabe to look so much like Nadia from "The Secret of Blue Water".

"Kimi to Boku 2" - Episode 6
- ...don't look at me like that. I'm enjoying it! It's a good show! It's like a very, VERY mellow "Daily Lives of High School Boys". It's disarming and comfortable and, to me, one of the best shows of this year. I know my co-writer on the blog, OtakuAndrain, would kill me for saying this, but I think this show is the boys version of the "Aria" series; it's so gentle and laid back.

"Space Brothers" - Episode 6
- Everytime I see Johnson Space Center in this show, I just get downright giddy because I've been there before and it's awesome and I'm going back this summer and it's going to be even more awesome!!!

"Folktales from Japan" - Episode 4
- I might end up dropping this particular show...it's not really holding my interest. But the stories are cool.

"NARUTO Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals" - Episode 5
- I'm not even a Naruto fan, and I'm loving this one to pieces! While I was never a big "Naruto" viewer, this show works for me because it's just plain funny.

"Kids on the Slope" - Episode 4
- I just saw Episode 4 today, and I have to say, it was one of the best...and that's saying a lot, considering that the series is only just getting started. While the bit with the racism was a little off putting, in the context of the show, I was able to understand it.

"Chobits" - Episode 16
- This one I'm watching for review on my blog. I'm dubbing this episode the "Please Teacher" episode for obvious reasons. If I've never said it before, I will say it now; Crispin Freeman is one talented voice actor. His portrayal of Hideaki is so genuine and natural, I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. And once again, Mona Marshall plays the pre-teen techno-geek role FLAWLESSLY. Seriously, could she do no wrong in the voice acting world?

Image

...I withdraw my question.

Yeah, that was sad.

-I saw a Chinese guy with a cross on his restaurant desk in America. That's so cool. You can do that here. Not so much China.

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

I'm watching this for the first time too (just finished episode 6), and that was pretty similar to my reaction. I knew that this series had a reputation for "deconstructing" the magical girl genre, and I had heard that it was violent, but I was still like . . .
