It was mostly because there wasn't an epic battle between Discord and the six and he was defeated so easily. For me the battle was defeating Discords lies and overcoming his deceptive ways. It was done really well and the final attack was cherry on the cake. It was great how Twilight didn't realize her friends had become discorded, leading to her defeat and how Discord didn't know they were back to normal leading to his defeat.
Honestly, it would be really hard to make the battle longer (Each episode is allowed to be 22 minutes long). Can't blame the writers for that.

@Anom I don't think they have to change anything from the episodes, it was perfect the way it was. But the fandom will be the fandom :eyeroll:

@ZeldaFan Yeah, Pinkie and Fluttershy had some really emotional episodes this season.

I realized I've never seen Celestia teleport. Twilight might be the only pony able to teleport. Even Nightmare Moon didn't teleport, she turned into a cloud. (I mean a tacky cloud).

Hm, you bring up a good point. But then again, when has Celestia ever needed to teleport?

I just realized the mane 6 could've used a super sneaky like plan to take down Discord. D'oh!

And Celestia is the biggest troll on television.

Yes, I'm wrong. What she did at the end of Lesson Zero was teleport.

And SA, what kinda super sneaky plan were you thinking of?

Each and every character (Excluding Twilight) would combine their skills to sneak up on Discord and strangle him down. Then, Twilight would use the Elements of Harmony to turn Discord into stone.

Less than a day until the Canterlot Wedding! And less than a day before our wedding gift poll ends. We're at a tie at the moment and I think if Bronies can dominate any poll on the net we can also break this tie. So if you haven't voted yet go vote now!

Bio, it will be worth the wait. Trust me on this one.
That was probably the greatest thing I have ever seen! That fight scene with the Mane 6 fighting all those changelings? Brilliant! And Twilight Sparkle can shoot lasers? That scene where Pinkie uses her as a gatling gun.... XD The songs were amazing too! Especially the duet between Cadence and the Queen of the Changelings. Gah, I had no idea that this would be so epic. I honestly wasn't sure how good an episode about a wedding could be, but this instantly became my new favorite episode(s) of the whole series. It really felt like a whole Disney movie crammed into 44 minutes. So brilliant!
I had to jump through hoops, but I saw the final two episodes! And it was worth every once of hype. I agree with Felix on everything, but I'm going to do a point for point discussion later, I'm just to amazed right now to think straight. Oh man, 44 min and every minute I just want to jump out of my chair from excitement. I will say one thing though:
I LOVED all of this episode! It was an AMAZING way to conclude the series! Shining Armor and Cadence were developed extremely well, the villain was awesome, and the fight scene with the clones was awesome too! This episode was just the most awesome thing I have seen in the series so far. Its that good.

My only downer was it was a little predictible, and now I feel sad that it is over. All and all though it was an awesome event.

It WAS a little predictable in some ways, but it was also unpredictable in a few ways (to me, at least). Like how Celestia was defeated by Queen Chrysalis (I thought Celestia was gonna whoop her flank) and how the Mane 6 were also defeated instead of making it to the Elements of Harmony, and how Princess Cadence and Shining Armor ended up being the ones to defeat her. I should have seen some of that coming, perhaps, but I didn't. And the bits that WERE predictable, I thought they were predictable in a good way, like in a Disney movie. You know how it's going to end, but it's still a joy to see how it gets there.
Alright here we go, big episode, lots to talk about:
I'm going to start with the little details they put into these episodes, because I really liked that and made an already amazing and huge episode so much more. Pinkie stepping on the cake, leaving her hoofprint and Twilight fixing it. Applejack putting her hat back on every time Rarity turns her back. Luna shouting down at Twilight. Making everything feel so special.

The fandom totally nailed the relationship between Twilight and Shinning. And Shinning is awesome. I really like how they handled the relationship between Twilight, Shinning and Cadance. I also like how they did Twilight's mood throughout the episode. Falling and raising and always appropriate for the scene.

Pinkie Pie has the greatest sneeze ever! Lyra and Minuette fanservice, oh yeah! And Luna was in the episode! Take that everypony that thought she was going to be left out again. And that was some scary magic Chrysalis used to trap Twilight, thank goodness they showed both episodes, because if it ended there I would have ended up looking like Twilight in 'Lesson Zero'.

Cadance is a pretty cool pony, I really love her personality. But man she looks messed up when we first meet her, how long has she been down in that cave? Also this episode answers my question of way Twilight knows the 'want it, need it' spell. All in all, Shinning Armor is one lucky colt, if I were a changeling, I'd just turn into him. And evil Lyra and Minuette!:wow!:
And Changelings! I didn't expect that! I had a dozen different theories, but changelings wasn't one of them. Queen Chrysalis is freaky scary, in a freaky awesome kinda way. And the changeling Pinkie Pie terrorized, I want him, his just freaking awesome! And that was a amazing battle, truly epic.

Queen Chrysalis' defeat: It was a shame they didn't use the Elements of Harmony. The way she was defeated though was great, fitted the story better and was amazingly cool.

The ending: The ending was the best part of the whole thing. They didn't leave us hanging at all. It wasn't just an ending, it truly felt like they were giving us an awesome farewell until the next season. I can close this chapter of season 2 on a high note, with no feelings of being let down and I could feel them saying thank you to the fans. It's a great feeling.

Did anypony get a good look at Vinyl's eyes? What was the color? I couldn't see.

Yeah, the story was a bit predictable, but I don't think the story was trying to be unpredictable in the first place. We had to be on Twilight's side as soon as possible, so from the very first time we meet fake Cadance she simply doesn't know who Twilight is, she's a fake, end of story and we're on Twilight's side. They didn't even try to hide it with: 'Oh yeah, you're little sister, we did something in the past that I must have forgotten.' From there on we're wondering who the heck this imposter is, what she wants, why doesn't anyone believe Twilight and what happened to the real Cadance.

A special note on Princess Celestia:
The more I learn about Celestia the less I see her as being a troll. She's just really, really oblivious. A total airhead.
I can see her in that situations:
'Friendship is Magic'
Celestia on reading Twilight's note: What? The thousand years are almost up? I totally forgot to tell Twilight she should go make some friends. Hey Twilight, quickly go to Ponyville and make some friends.

'Ticket Master'
Celestia: I only send Twilight two tickets? Then who got the five tickets I send? Ah well, doesn't matter I'll just send them five more tickets and one for Spike.
Random pony: Hey, Blueblood, I got an extra ticket for the Galla, want to go?

'Brid in the hoof'
Celestia to Fluttershy: Yeah, she's a pretty cool pet, had her for a long time. And she's pretty cool you know? You like pets so you'd see just how cool she is.
Celestia at the end: Oops, maybe I should have told Fluttershy that Phelimina wasn't sick, got her a bit mixed up with Rainbow Dash for a bit.

(Oh, and I'm not seriously suggesting Celestia is an airhead, just like I would never seriously suggest that Celestia is a troll. I'm just joking around.)

Exactly, Felix. I agree on the fact that some parts were unpredicitiable.
The elements of harmony not saving the day was a shocker, and I liked the change. And Princess Celestia doing something! :O That was a BIG shocker! And I did not guess the changeling thing, but I did realize she wasn't the regular Cadence.
Bio, nice summary of the episode. And don't get me wrong, I LOVED this whole episode, and the complaints I have were minor. It was definitly the best episode in my book. Everything was well developed, and it was an excellent conclusion to an awesome season.

But, I almost thought they were trying to be unpredictiable when:
Shining Armor made his fake explaination about Cadence to Twilight.
I think you both know what I mean. The fanservice was also awesome in this episode as well, and they were a lot of really sweet, and emotional moments where you could really connect with the characters feelings, epecially Twilight. She has regained my respect with this episode. And I wonder if:
Doing a villain at the end of the season will become a trend, you know?
I know, right? It was so totally awesome!

But anyways, now I'm depressed. No more episodes for at least another season? :sniffle: That just makes me cry. But there are two sides to this:

Good: A lot more time to watch anime.

Bad: NO MORE PONIES!!!!

But seriously, what will the rest of you be doing?

PMVs and then there's a PMV contest, if I can get through that before the third season, we'll see what else there is. I still need to listen to Doctor Whooves and Assistant episode 5.

I loved those parts, too. xD And before that the reprise of "BBBFF" made me so sad. :<

You know, I think this show is the first thing to blatantly resolve it's big conflict with "LOVE CONQUERS ALL" without annoying me. XD Because, I mean... the subtitle is "Friendship is Magic". I can accept this.

I hope we see more songs in the future. This show's musical numbers are really impressive.

Yeah, I kinda felt the same way. I thought it was a pleasant change that the Mane Six weren't the ones to save the day. But none the less, I loved the action scenes they had. I almost find it suprising they didn't rate part 2 "TV-Y7-FV" You know, because of all the fantasy violence. It wasn't that realestic, but it was almost equal to certain episodes of the 4kids dub of Sonic X, and that was ALWAYS rated TV-Y7-FV. Any comments on that?
