Colony Times.....

Postby lonelyone » Thu May 27, 2004 11:50 pm

I have a question, the other day on PBS, they had on colony times, my question to you all, is there anybody outthere, that could go back in time, and act out colony times, like these people did, and also how long could you last, i loved it that they had indians connected with it, i thougth that was cool, but could you do it, and for how long? Or maybe you could go back in time, and do another part of our history, if so, please name the times, and how long you could last, when several people has post, i might come back and tell for me. Please be serious, because this is a serious question. thanks.

well, it's impossible to give an exact figure. it all depends on the people, the food, and more. I'd love to try that someday...it's an interesting show.

if I had to pick a time, I'd probably go back to the roman years, or maybe ancient japan. there are so many things nowadays that we take for granted, though, so certain parts of it would suck.
srry, I just wanted to share the net

Like, no toilets for example! And no ice water much less frozen desserts! Heck, even sugar itself used to be really expensive!

I dont think I'd like to try it really

Whoa...that would be really hard...^^;; I'll admit, I'm a spoiled baby who enjoys modern convenience (I love my air conditioner and computer...LOL) so I don't think I'd be very good at colonial living, but I think it might be cool to try out for like a day or so, but I don't think I'd make it more than a week...hehe

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Colony times would be fun. I'm not sure how long I'd last because farm work is hard. But then I live on a farm so I am semi-used to it... and it would be awesome to have horses as the main mode of transport... no more gas price worries. But to live with no hot showers or deet bugspray, well I don't think I would like that. Maybe I could deal for a few weeks of it though.
