I had to work it, from 9pm to 3am. It was a freaking zoo. I even had to park at a business across the street and some jerk parked in the fire lane. I think he got towed :D

No. Probably well over 90% of my non-food shopping is done online. No crowds, no problems.

No. No way on God's green Earth would I ever go shopping on Black Friday. I hate crowds. :fmed: Besides, I'm not even old enough to drive there, so there's not really an option anyway. ^^;

I never really have gone shopping on Black Friday, mostly because I HATE shopping with a vengeance. Especially shopping for clothes. It takes such a long time, and sometimes I'm scandalized by the immodesty of the dress.

But it looks like we're going to go shopping today. The bargains last until Sunday, my mom said. So, I guess.... Yes?

How about the
"Occasionally, only if necessary" option? We HAD to last year in order to get a computer for my father since our last one broke down, and I really needed to invest in a Nook this year. But other than those two times, I think we only went once before.

Even though I did do Black Friday this year (for one item), I went at 2 in the afternoon. Totally was NOT going to be up at whenever to get it.

I make it a point to finish my Christmas shopping (except for perishables) well before Thanksgiving.

I didn't go. My bro and I hit the gym and then he went shopping in the evening when the crowds died down. He actually found a lot of nice things.

I'm surprised that the gym wasn't jammed packed after Turkey day.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." I went at like... 6 in the afternoon on friday. Deals were still running and I was able to find a few things without getting in a fight for them. I've never done the whole late night/early morning thing.

Oh, my option wasn't up there:

No, I refuse to support consumerism and capitalism stripping the 99% from their families during the holidays so the 1% can make a quick buck. Of course, I'm also happy with what I already have and plan on simply taking care of it and learning how to fix what I can - I did look through the black Friday ads though... I saw nothing that interested me. But the above feelings influenced me more then the ads - they just added to my feeling of "I really don't want or need this junk, why can't these people just sleep in after all of that turkey and snuggle up with family?"

I found a copy of the Legend of Zelda Skyward sword special edition on Black Friday. I did most of the shopping for myself at an anime/manga hobby store.

I spent all of Black Friday on the Interstate, riding back home. So no.

Yep, that's pretty much what I did: I worked cashier 11:30 PM to 3:30 AM Thursday/Friday at Walmart, and had to park in the lot at the next store over. Sales on electronics started at midnight, the hounds came pouring through, and I thanked my lucky stars I had a cash register bunker thingy between me and them. The crowds died down around 1:30, and I spent the rest of the night cleaning up the toy section after you crazy Black Friday kids had your way with it.

I stayed home and joked with my family. One year (I forget how long ago), we joked about selling hot cocoa to people waiting in line outside store doors.

"Black Friday" isn't that big of a deal in Canada, though that doesn't stop the news reporters from talking about all the idiotic things people do down south. (No offence intended, just an observation)

Oh another way to make fun of Canadians...so you guys go running up the steps of your national monuments like Rocky Balboa the day after? hahahahaha

I don't do that crazy crap either...I just watch the news and relish morbidly in the tales of morons and idiots trampling, hurting, maiming and sometimes literally killing each other over a bargain or something...like...this year...a waffle iron bargain. :P

A few years ago I thought about doing it, but when I looked at the news to see people die in these things, I decided that I would not participate in the bloodbath. lol

Honestly to me, if there was another name for this day, it'd probably be Greed day, but that's just my take. I don't have a problem with people going out for deals and whatnot, but what I don't like is when they get these "deals" at the expense of others' lives.

There's no Black Friday shopping in Australia, though we can go online to pick up bargains.

However, our first child is due next March, so trying very hard to spend money only on the necessities....
