Long time Christian, short time anime fan

Postby Bookkid900 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 7:51 pm

Hello CAA,
I have been a Christian since I was 4 and I will now be turning eighteen, at the time of this writing in about 25 hours. I was introduced to anime by a christian friend in the ninth grade due to the sheer amount of manga that my high school had. (I went and counted using the number of pages on the online database for the search for "manga" and got 526 volumes.) Since then anime has played a role in who I am today for now that I am in college I have joined my university's anime club and am taking Japanese as my foreign language.

According to MyAnimeList I have watched about 36.9 days worth of anime over a span of four and a half years.

So, that is about it and I hope to become an active member here!

It would either have to be the Clannad series or Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler)

My MAL link is: http://myanimelist.net/profile/bookkid900
Note: I do read a lot of manga but I never have time to add it all to the list... :D

Hello and a warm welcome to you Bookkid900. I hope you enjoy it here. ^_^

Watching 94 anime at once? O: Quite an en-devour, but I'm happy to seeing you keep up with the newer stuff. I was disappointed to not see Un-Go on your list, though. :< (though, I do really want to know why you are liking Guilty Crown so much. XD; I'm enjoying for several reason, but I dunno if I would give it a 10)

Thanks! I was not expecting such a warm welcome from you and others!

The reason I gave it a 10 is that it was based upon the first episode and I have not bothered to lower it to a 9 yet... :P Most of the time, once I set a score I keep it as such.

Also, I tend to bounce from anime to anime and I do not really go back and move the series that I have watched in a while to on-hold.

Ah, I see. I tend to get into the habit of adjusting the rating every time I update the episode number I'm on (unless it doesn't need adjusting, that is).
And I know what you mean about not moving things to "on-hold" that after. I usually forget to do that too, even if I haven't continued an anime in a very long time. XD

Welcome to CAA. CAA is the cool place to hang out. You can find most of the cool people here. At CAA you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the CAA motto, for example, that's how laid back it is here. Show up if you want to have a good time. Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends. =)

Welcome!
I can hardly beleive your school had that much manga! You must have been in some sort of heaven! You are so luck!
The only manga my school has is Shakespear, which is pretty good, but I wouldn't mind something more....
Oh! A fellow Clannad Fan! You've watched After Story, right?

I'm so late in welcomes, but glad you could be with us
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.
