Back when I was little the Atari 2600 was the platform of choice, and when River Raid came out I eagerly popped it in and started playing. Being too young to fully comprehend what was even going on in that game, I felt very afraid. (I could barely read at that age and kept crashing because I didn't know what "FUEL" was for...hee hee!) Then there were the Wallmasters in The Legend of Zelda and that big boss who spat bottles (paddles?) in Bubble Bobble. I was so young and timid that just about anything scared me back then, though....

For a more recent example, my friend brought over Resident Evil (2?) one day and let me give it a try. I was walking down a corridor when something suddenly reached out of the wall and grabbed me...and I SCREAMED! My friend told me I'd scared him more than the game did! Hee hee hee!

Well, I'm really, really not a gamer, but someone talked me into playing some Final Fantasy VIII, and then the bit bugs showed up and I panicked, which is really sad. -__- You should've seen me when Ifrit showed up!

The first game to freak me out was probably D for the PSone. The most recent game is Eternal Darkness.

Omg, lol... the first game to scare me was Rayman 2 for PC. (you can start laughing now) There's this one level where this giant spider literally drops in on top of you... being in the whimsical Rayman setting, I wasn't expecting giant spiders, OK?!?

I'm not sure which one of these I played first but they were both Genesis games: Either Splatterhouse III (not my own copy, I played it at a Halloween party with a friend) or the Ghostbusters level where your only light source is a flashlight with very limited visibility. Yeah, that's right. The Ghostbusters game scared me. So sue me, I was easily frightened when I was little.

Hm...Metroid Prime has freaked me out when the Shadow Pirates come out of no where....Half Life did, too, when I walked in the room and the scientist got whisked up off the floor into the ceiling, then blood started dripping. Then, that other scientists legs were dangling down from a vent and you could hear chewing, while his body was slowly being pulled up. Then the screams from the stupid Undeads in OoT and WW...oh yes, in Halo, my friend is really, really good in multiplayer, and he was circling me with Active Camoflage on, and when I got shot all of the sudden, I spun around, saw him move, and unloaded all of my assault rifle rounds into him...I had full ammo, but...it startled me, and I'm trigger happy as it is! My other friends that were on my team just turned and looked at me with an almost...horrified look on their face. Heh heh...no game has ever really scared me, but they made me jump. FFVII made me sick to where I didn't play it for several months, in the Shinra Tower where you see Jenova in that tank...I was little, and squeamish then. Heh....
