It only gets better. Next was my favorite season of the bunch as it had the most comedy in the series (which is where Slayers really shines.) Some people liked the third season, Try, even more though because it had more plot (and less comedy.)rocklobster (post: 1495717) wrote:Just started Slayers Next. Here's hoping it lives up to the original.

You guys know how one of the most common complaints about Miyazaki is the force fed environmental message? This makes his movie look not subtle, but invisible with such a message. It is one step away from the characters looking at the screen and telling the audience that technology sucks and everyone should go back to living in tribal villages.

You should totally remedy this. Imagawa's 2004 series is fantastic, and, from your brief description, the movie sounds like it has the same vibe/feel as said TV show. You would like it.Agloval (post: 1496551) wrote: all I know about the various Tetsujin 28 titles is the basic premise.
I thought it was quite decent -- much more an elegaic post-war mystery than a full-blown action story.
Mmm, I totally should. I have the '04 series sitting around, but flashier though probably less edifying things keep distracting me from starting it.TheSubtleDoctor (post: 1496685) wrote:You should totally remedy this. What? What do you mean? I tenderly place my hand on my buddy's cheek and look deeply into his eyes while giving him words of encouragement thinly disguised as reprimands or complaints ALL THE TIME. Don't be so sensitive, Atria! Geez, some people are way too quick to see that sort of thing...Atria35 (post: 1496461) wrote:No. 6 3-5- For something that isn't shounen-ai, wow. It toes the line

I'm surprised you say that, because I remember hearing Imagawa himself say that he didn't think the movie was very good. Of course, it was Imagawa's perfectionist attitude that led to Giant Robo being incredible, so I could buy the movie being good but not to Imagawa's standards.Agloval (post: 1496551) wrote:Imagawa's Tetsujin 28 movie (Tetsujin 28: Lingering Midday Moon, or something along those lines) got subtitles. It's pretty much a stand-alone story, which is good because all I know about the various Tetsujin 28 titles is the basic premise.
I thought it was quite decent -- much more an elegaic post-war mystery than a full-blown action story. Also, Norio Wakamoto has a role.
