Thanks for bringing this up! Although I have known about this, I have not actually looked at it myself. In the end, I felt my blurb was long enough without going too much into it, so thanks for bringing this state of affairs to the attention of the forum and providing a link. More people should know about/be talking about these things b/c it's highly possible that what could really do long-term damage the industry isn't problems with the market but, instead, a lack of talent to create things.

I just started 2 new anime

Ghost Hunt - After watching 2 episodes I am interested. It has me wanting to see what happens at least (blasted multiple part episodes!) I like some of the atmosphere and the characters are fun especially since I found out that all of them are main characters.

Kimi ni Todoke - I am really liking this show and that is with just watching 2 episodes. I really wanted to try it because it is outside my genre. I have never really watched a slice of life Shojou high school romance with no gimmick. I have watched Fruits Basket but that had the gimmick of the Sohma's being animals and all that. So it was an interesting venture into the unknown. As I said I am really liking it. It has been a long time since I have seen a show where everyone is so nice. I mean Kazehaya is such a nice guy and a gentleman that I feel he is a great role model for young men. Sawako is such a wonderful lady that even though people fear her because of how she looks she is still as nice as can be. I love that concept and look forward to future episodes.

I'm currently about halfway through Gun X Sword, and am enjoying the whole Mecha/Western mash up. I'm planning to begin Trigun and Mushishi in the near future as well.

Just finished watching Rurouni Kenshin episode 42.
I've gotta admit, when it looked like Aoshi had killed Okina I felt heartbroken since I really like Aoshi. The fact that he's become so desperate to kill Kenshin that he'd take the life of an old friend and ally is quite sickening for me. Right now all I'm thinking is, 'Poor Misao.' :sniffle: Having your hero and the guy you profess to 'love' tell you to get lost and never show yourself to him again has got to hurt. (I guess this means I like her character after all; despite the fact that I think she's a little too much like Karou. :eyeroll:)

And as for Shishio and the rest of those little freaks who work for him... I hope Saito and Kenshin chop them to kingdom come. ;D
I've recently started watching Durarara and GunxSword. Enjoying both so far. xD

Watched episodes 2-3 of Ramen Fighter Miki. I am LOVIN' this series! It's really funny! Only 9 episodes left to go. They have the whole collection for a pretty good price at Amazon, so I am seriously considering adding it to my collection.

Re-watching the first season of Sailor Moon. Currently on episode 13.
Usagi's really annoying until Sailor Stars... And I think Jadeite should've been kept a little longer, because it definitely would've made things interesting if we could see him acting against the sailor senshi while he knew their secret identities.
I received Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box 6 a few days ago, so that's going on my "Now Playing" list for the next few weeks/months!

So, I went back and watched the first eight episodes of D.Gray-man in the English dub :thumb: I am so glad I did; I can really tell the difference in the experience. My perceptions of the characters are actually significantly different due to the voices, and probably simply because it's in my native language (though after all these years of hearing so much Japanese that I can almost tell what they mean even though I've never studied the language, you'd think it wouldn't matter). I especially love Todd Haberkorn as Allen Walker! He sounds much more subtle and nuanced, and...well, much less like a girl :P (Don't get me wrong though - Romi Paku is living proof that women can make amazing teenage boys.) And I much prefer Todd's yells.

I've gone ahead and watched episode 9 now. Ah man, I'm liking this more and more with each episode! It's finally gotten funny (the humor doesn't work so well in the first couple of episodes, I think), and I'm enjoying the characters. (Also, I find it hilariously awesome that J. Michael Tatum does both Komui in this series and Scar in FMA: Brotherhood.)
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

So I'm watching 3 [almost] totally different animes.
GunXSword ep 15
Hana-Saku Iroha ep 14
and
Lovely Complex ep 10

GunXSword does remind me of Cowboy Bebop and Trigun mixed, not because the stories or plot-lines are really that similar, but I think it's just the western/mecha theme that I guess reminds me of it. Van somewhat reminds me of Spike too. But beside that it is pretty different. I'm enjoying it.

Lovely Complex is like a love/hate relationship for me. Which is funny, because I feel like that's how the main characters feel towards each other right now. hahaha.

Hana-Saku Iroha is interesting, because it seems like something that might've even happened or happens in everyday life in Japan. Which interests me anyhow, because I'm planning to live there at some point in the near future and it's interesting to see the relationships are and work. Yeah. :P

My Neighbor Totoro (dub): Well, in contrast with my recently-posted opinion of Kiki..., Totoro got an 8/10 from me. :) As just one reason, the facial expressions (particularly on Totoro him{?}self) are EPIC CUTENESS!! ...Seriously. (And yeah, there's the whole better art/storytelling/voicing/etc. thing, too. But, really: *CUTE.*)

I recently watched the first half of Aria The Natural since I finally got my hands on the DVDs I ordered several months ago...it is as wonderful as season one, though I have to admit the cats in this show seriously scare me. I guess it is time to start saving spare change again so I can buy the second half of the series.

Also, the episodes about Alice tend to be my favorites for some reason.

Series I'm currently watching:
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Part 3 is on Netflix Instant. YAY! I have been waiting months. Literally. Now to wait for Part 4 and 5...)
Death Note (This one's kind of on pause. I haven't really been in the mood to watch it.)

Series I'm thinking of starting in the meantime:
Haibane Renmei
Noein
Kino's Journey
Clannad
Nodame Cantabile
Princess Tutu
Ghost Hound (?)
(Maybe around Halloween)

Finished Soul Eater it was good right up until the ending. the "the manga's not done yet so we need to make something up" ending, the whole reveal/final episode didn't fit well at all, no foreshadowing at all ether. aside from the ending though it was very good. I wonder if there's a possibility of eventually seeing a "Soul Eater: Brotherhood"?

I watched the third episode of Spice and Wolf a very nice show, relaxing to watch, and it has the prettiest closing of any show I've seen. it's sweet, in contrast too...

D.Gray-man I watched the first three episodes. (dubbed version after the_wolfs_howl's post) Good action. interesting world. I agree with Wolfs_Howl that Komui Lee is like Hughes(And tht the VA also did Scar is finny too.), I also find that Yu Kanda reminds me of Col. Mustang, maybe it's just the voice, but he seems to have the same sort of focus.

Made it up early enough to see Bleach this morning, made no sense whatsoever.
Drarara!! was good, I'm warming up to the dub. Mikado is a n00b LOL.
FMA:B was excellent. Still watching Inuyasha.

Finished Rurouni Kenshin yesterday, (By finished, I mean I stopped after episode 62, I hate filler and I've heard really bad things about RK's. xD)
Wooot~! Awesome way to finish up a story arc! I officially give this series a 10/10.
(Of course I'm sure it's just because I'm caught up in the hype and it has nothing to do with Aoshi/Saito/Sanosuke/Kenshin/the soundtrack/and all of the crazy/awesome female characters. Nothing at all. :eyeroll:)

I've been speed reading the manga ever since.

Oro~?

Hey there, Blitz! How have you been doing? It's been a while! ::Tackleglomps::

In any case, I recently finished "Planetes" again. I wanted to watch something cool and space related due to the Space Shuttle program coming to an end and "Planetes" fit the bill perfectly.

Right now, "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi" has my attention, and I really forgot how hilarious and fast paced the series is. On a related note, has anyone noticed that most of the Gainax leading males have blue eyes like Naota from FLCL, Shinji from Evangelion and Sasshi from "Abenobashi"? Is this coincidence or just a Gainax trademark?

1 episode left from finishing FMA: Brotherhood! OMYGOODNESS! iloveit. The End.
I've been watching it with my husband, he never watched the first series like I did, but let me tell ya. What a difference! I mean, I still like the old series, but I definitely think this one was wayyy more put together. (well, obviously because it's strictly following the manga) But wow! 10 thumbs up!

Watching Hana-Saku Iroha! I just finished episode 16. Cuuuute!
