C.S. Lewis (I think) quote?
Recently, I heard someone quoted (and I believe it was C.S. Lewis, but I'm not entirely sure) that said something to the effect of "when you lose the desire to do the right thing, continue doing it anyways until the desire returns". I wanted to use that quote in a paper, but I can't find the original source. Does anyone know the quote I'm looking for?

Hmm....I am curious about this, also. I feel like I've heard it before and I really like it. It's definitely something to remember.

It sounds like it may have come from C.S. Lewis' essay, "Let's Pretend".

It's not whether you can or can't do it, it is if you do it or not. Nothing comes easy in this world, especially a job or money. I rely on Jesus to get me through these hard times of persecution.

I always liked what he said about Jesus in Mere Christianity. That we have 3 possibilities:
1. Lunatic
2. Liar
3. Actually the true Son of God.

Except that's an invalid argument, and has been taken apart many times.

So has, "Eat your vegetables!" but that one's still valid. ▬_l
It's a good point wether or not Lewis said it. What's "right" isn't based off of what we feel, and we are engineered for doing right. When you do what you are made for, you want to keep doing it. Sometimes we just need a little extra umph to get back on track. n.n

There are lots of arguements that are still valid
It's not whether you can or can't do it, it is if you do it or not. Nothing comes easy in this world, especially a job or money. I rely on Jesus to get me through these hard times of persecution.

Um, duh? I'm not saying that all arguments are invalid. I'm saying that this specific one is. CS Lewis' argument about the 'trio' of liar, madman, or Son of God has been dissected and is a terrible argument with logical fallacies in it.

I have definitely read this before in C.S. Lewis books somewhere... I just don't remember which book. I believe it's in Mere Christianity though.
