How often you go to church

Talk about anything in here.

I practically live at my church. I go to church every sunday morning and occasionally sunday night prayer meeting with my mumsies. I have my piano and voice lessons at church on Mondays. I go to work on Tuesdays since the preschool I teach at happens to be at my church. I have my systematic theology class with Kakashi sensei (my associate pastor) on Wednesday nights. I go to church on Thursdays so I can ride with Kakashi sensei to my second job in the evenings. I'm not at church on Fridays and if there's a work day or some event on Saturday, I'm there. On Tuesdays in the summer, we have our children's ministry program that I help out with. I walk around my church barefoot.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." I go to church...well, a lot. And my small group. Though, I skipped youth group tonight because it was the sex talk (for the 50th time-I swear I could probably teach that lesson). I wish I could say I that read my Bible and pray a lot more than I do, right now I read a chapter or two every couple mornings. :)

On translations: to keep the Bible fresh, I constantly try new translations: for instance, NIV is good for basic understanding. For those of us who like big words, the NASB or ESV is nice. And the NKJV is great for reading the Psalms and Proverbs, since they read like poetry. And the Message gives it to you straight in plain everyday language. I love reading dif translations.

I go twice a week for Sunday service, and Wednesday youth, and Friday every other week (if I can get it off work)
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

I go to my same church every Sunday, and participate in their events. I been going to their services for many years.

Sadly, I only read the bible during church time honestly. I should read it more often.
The only way I can understand the bible is that I used my Study bible which have the modern English translations of the KJV. I read it if I agree with the scriptures completely and to be more curious.

I read my Bible, but I rarely go to church anymore. For me, church has just been associated with too much heartache and eventually I just stopped going. Recently I've started trying to go back again, but we'll see how it goes ^__^

Wait, "sex talk" like about how adultery is bad and stuff? Or "sex talk" like school education class? Because if it's the latter, that's...kind of bizarre to me that a youth group would be doing that. o.O

Heh, well, this one doesn't have the Deuterocanonical books in it XD The editors say so, but not why. Other than that, they've preserved everything, typos, italics, what have you. The original genealogy charts are really cool too.

Meh, if it doesn't have those books, it's not really a 1611 version KJV. False advertising! If I were to sell "The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe" but it didn't have The Raven or The Pit and the Pendulum, then it ain't the complete works now is it? XD

I think she means that adultery and sex before marriage is bad. I've heard that talk for the bajillionth time also.

I suppose it's a Protestant version xD It's neat though, regardless. And hey, only $5.

I go to church pretty much every Sunday. I love my church!!
As for reading my Bible, it's a on-and-off thing. I'm not really as faithful as I should be. I go to a Christian school, and part of my Bible class is to read the Bible through in a year. I get what they're trying to get us to do (get in the Bible a ton), but all I was doing was basically skimming and not thinking about much. So I'm just reading about a chapter a day. I'm reading Proverbs currently. :D

I remember one Christmas I went to church 5 times in 25 hours.
But it's pretty much every week, normally.

Atria, in lieu of church, I might suggest going on youtube and checking out the sermons from EWTN. They're pretty good.
As for answering the question, my family tries to go every week. We've got three churches nearby, so we don't have much of an excuse. Not to mention we're about 30 minutes from a really nice church named after one of my favorite saints: St. Francis Xavier. (he did missionary work in Japan, btw)

Good idea in theory, but I'm not Catholic. And I'd feel very uncomfortable with listening to one because of that.

The past few years, I've grown kind of numb to the weekly morning church routine. Honestly, I feel like any real ministry that takes place at weekly morning meetings is a bit rare. It's just my opinion. Sometimes I even imagine that the people who really enjoy typical weekly church are tricking themselves into it, but I can't really speak to that.

Teaching can be good, sure, but by my experience, most interactions that I've had during Sunday mornings outside of my social circle have been little more than platitudes, including most sermons. I wish I could say that it's just my church, but I've been to several churches of multiple denominations, and I find the differences between them to be somewhat minuscule, except for doctrinal nuances. That's not to say I don't have good experiences at Sunday morning church services, or that I don't try to help out, or try to learn... it's just that I honestly feel that sometimes I have to put up with how little substance there is to be had at any given meeting.

I don't want to leave it at that, though, because I do get excited about church - but right now I'm excited about our church's youth group. God is doing great things in our group, and I think it's precisely because we not only have a youth pastor that cuts through the platitudes and the rhetoric and gets down to what really matters, and illustrates and exemplifies the person of Christ with compassion, determination, and precision... but especially because almost every student there does not come from a Christian home. They come from families with alcohol and drug abuse, and have experienced hardships that have shocked all of the adult leaders. But they are not raised hearing Christian rhetoric, and they are experiencing the love of Christ in a genuine way for the first time. In many ways, when they learn about Christ's sacrifice, and how God loves them as a perfect Father, they are getting to know him in ways that I never could. So I get excited about that. Seeing that stuff happen at youth group kinda makes singing a few songs and listening to a dude wax eloquent about Greek and Hebrew definitions pale in comparison.

I go to church on Sunday mornings about every other week. :]

I kind of know how you feel. Instead of going to my church this weekend I went with my uncle to his Catholic church and felt a tiny bit uncomfortable since I'm not Catholic. It was still and interesting experience though and a lovely church. :)
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

My grandparents on my dad's side are Catholic, and I went to church with them once when I was about 9 or 10 years old and they had come down to visit. I remember being confused and uncomfortable because I had no idea what was going on the entire time.

Maybe it's one of those things you have to be raised in the environment.

I used to go every week. In a way, it was far more often than that though; I went to a private Christian school K-12, so it was kinda like being in church 6 days a week for those years.

Nowadays I go maybe once a year... My old job stole my Sundays and even after they shut their doors I never managed to get back to it. Hmm...

I finally found a church that doesn't make me cry/ make me angry, so I go once a week. Though I missed Easter (of all days!!!) because I forgot they were doing a combined service, so the time was different. Whoops.

I'm still terrified of everyone there, though. Not their fault. I'm terrified of people in general. ^_^;

I don't read as much as I should.
