Busy with homework, I had the first four episodes of Bamboo Blade play in the background. Quite humorous at times - at least enough to keep me awake as I worked at 5 in the morning. I like the way they blended their 3D environment shots with the 2D feel and characters.

1. Finished Code Geass. Man what a series. More twisted than a Texas Tornado on a Tuesday, lol. Ended up on my favorites list at the end (a very hard list for a series to get on to).

2. Finished Ah! My Goddess Season 1... and thought I could go right on to Season 2, but then I looked at the Wiki page, and... I realized I'm watching the franchise out of order, chronologically. T.T... Oh well! At leas its not like I'm missing much. Generally the same story. But, for those of you who want to get the order of the series within the franchise right... 5-Ep OVA>Ah! My Mini Goddess (48 eps)>AMG The Movie> AMG Season 1> AMG Season 2>AMG OVA II (2 eps.). Oy, never thought the franchise was THIS big. At least its fun to watch, though.

3. Since Code Geass is finished, started watching Mobile Suit Gundam. Aka 0079. Excellent so far (4 eps in). Ah, its GOOD to be watching a Gundam series again... all the familiar sound effects, character bios, storylines, settings... oh yes, and the COLONY DROPS! lol.

Someday, I will have seen the ENTIRE Gundam franchise. Excluding the SD/Chibi Gundam series, of course.

Summer Wars on Blu-ray!! I think the impossible, or at least highly unlikely, may have happened. Hosoda may have replaced Miyazaki as my favorite anime director. Between Our War Game, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars, there isn't a thing he's made that I've watched and disliked, even a bit.

Re-watching Fullmetal Alchemist (because it's been a while since I watched the early episodes). Was watching Nabari no Ou, but most of the episodes seem to have disappeared off Funimation >.<; And a friend recommended Shigurui Death Frenzy. Not sure what I think of it yet.

Summer Wars (dub): Well, luckily, whoever runs the purchasing for our local libraries seems to be fond of anime and manga-- they have a great stock of it, and buy new releases quite quickly (in fact, usually preordering them well in advance of their release). Also luckily, I'd been hearing about this movie for months (and had looked forward to seeing it for just as long :)), so as it got close to when I figured they'd preorder it I watched the catalog like a hawk, and thus was able to get the very first hold. ;)

...All this (frankly needless ) buildup to say that it came in today, I just finished watching it, and it was indeed really good! :thumb: (It's right up there with my other favorite anime movies.)

EDIT: I ended up showing this to my friends now, too, and along with them really enjoying it, I myself actually liked it even better the second time around. It really was excellently done, and yep, its place on my favorites list has now been cemented. :)
Saved by grace.

OK, further correction on the Ah My Goddess franchise sequencing. After further review, Ah My Mini-Goddess has been found to stray from the manga quite. A. Bit. I mean, who was I kiddin'? A short-ep-length chibi series that has a good adaptation? I shoulda known better. Ah well. But hey, i'm no authority or dictator in what you choose to watch... anyways, watched the movie for that series today. It was surprisingly very good. And now its on to Season 2!

I'm up to MSG 0079 episode 7 now. And I am always tempted to just marathon the rest of it with each passing day of viewing... kekeke. It's THAT good, at least to me.

I'm almost done with the Earth Book in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Man, it was so intense when they arrived in Ba Sing Se. I was NOT expecting that! The filler episodes were good, too, such as "Tales Of Ba Sing Se" (though Momo's was kinda sad, since he missed Appa, and Iroh's as well, 'cause he was remembering his son). And then when Jet came back....whoa.....

Rewatched the episode "House Of The Waiting Family" of FMA, 'cause I am showing Dad. He really likes this series, and hopefully we get to watch another episode today!

I'm also going to rewatch Angelic Layer and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles <333

Ooh, watched 1 and a half episodes of FMA:B, I figured out where to start from where new stuff begins. More bloody, but....still a good watch. And I watched episode 20 of Kobato so I could see the post-Tsubasa crew land there.
So sad how they can't stay in one world for too long!!! I hope CLAMP will show, whether in a sequel or one of their other series, Syaoran returning to Sakura, and maybe getting the clones back!!
The last few eps & the ending left me kinda stunned, but it was pretty good & I'm kinda glad that it wasn't really the same-old-same-old, and also kind of emotional as well (and you were right, Nate, it did end with a 'bang'!;) )

I rewatched Summer Wars tonight, and it managed to be just as exciting and awesome the second time as the first. At the end of a great film should have me thinking it's the best I've seen, or at least one of the top three. Summer Wars pulled that off spectacularly once again.

Rewatched Summer Wars. I'm hoping that I'm not the only person that has serious issues with the sound- when I tried playing the Japanese audio, the English audio played at the same time.

Interesting things to note: It's awesome.

There's more language in the dub.

There was some outdated lingo in the dub. Wasn't too impressed by that.

But it was an awesome movie overall.

Was the audio only during the narrator for Oz? That's how it was supposed to be.

Though, I, at least, did not have any issues, with the sound. I didn't watch the dub.

Welcome to the Space Show was pretty cool.

The good: this movie looks good. Beyond just looking good in general, the design of the aliens and space world was really bright and creative, as you'd expect from the Kamichu guys. A lot of the aliens and weird alien things were really reminiscent of the gods and their conference from Kamichu, except there's a lot more visual pizzazz.

The bad: this is not a tightly directed or written movie. Imagine if Summer Wars had an extra hour in the middle that was basically 'look at how cool OZ is'. And stuff kinda just happens. There's not a lot of lead up to a lot of the major plot events, it's just SUDDENLY BEAMS or something. That is, the writing's okay, but I had quite a few eyebrow raises.

Basically, it's a pretty neat watch.

Paprika The animation was AMAZING, and it certainly has one of the most unique soundtracks out there... :3 I felt like I was viewing my own mind, as far as how it flowed between things so well. I'd heard it was confusing, but sadly, it made sense to me. (Maybe I should be worried? XD ) Anyway, amazing, strange, beautiful movie~

Well, it's too late to edit my post now I guess, but what do you mean? I didn't talk about Monster's ending at all there *is confused* It's hardly a spoiler that Johan opens his eyes at one point....

Woah. I've heard FMA described as many things, but never slow ._. That's a first!

Anyway, I watched Trigun episodes 23-26. YES OH YES FINALLY I GOT MY MOM TO THE ENDING!!!! I don't know why it was so hard to watch it all with her, but this was our third time, and I guess it was the charm, because it finally worked. Yo, ABlipinTime, once you get to the end, you should totally listen to "The Unforgiven II" by Metallica. My mom and I agreed that it totally encapsulates Vash's entire storyline, if you take it poetically anyway.

And I watched Monster episode 3. Woah, Lunge's voice is deep :eh: Not what I imagined it in the manga. But I'm remembering more and more how much I love this story ^_^ I think Nina will appear in the next one....

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I've started watching Haibane Renmei with my little sisters ^_^ It feels so good to be sharing my second-favorite anime of all time with them.

Finished Monster. Wow, that really was the best anime I've seen so far. True, I'm still a newbie, but it's hard to imagine anything better than that.

I also finally got around to finishing Samurai Champloo, which I'd been watching off and on for months. It was just a little too episodic for my tastes, but I thought it ended well.

Right now my husband and I are watching Clannad Afterstory. It's starting to get intense. Occasionally we lighten things up with an episode of School Rumble: talk about a change in mood!

From what I've read, Loups=Garous seems to have suffered a ton from the adaptation process, because how the book is described is not quite what I got out of the movie. The movie itself was pretty baffling. I feel like it didn't set up the whole situation very well and there seem to be some threads that were just cut off short. I can see the bones of a good story, but the end result was pretty disappointing.
